[Proposal] Toilet Bowl Sell

This proposal is very simple - AND WILL:
1. Save Bandwith on servers thus reducing a bit of Lag
2. Move more people out of "Jita" faster and other clogged stations and systems, thus reducing server requirement
3. Probably more - but I cannot think about it.

Example:
You run your level 4 missions and salvage everything for a couple days.
Then you take all your loot to jita and right click on each item in your inventory and click [sell].
(you do not care about what the buy price is - you just sell it)
-This takes forever and you have to click constantly and with every click causes a server hit to display the current 'buy' price from someone and all the other information regarding that item.
-This causes you to stay 'docked' in jita even longer than required as you just want to SELL EVERYTHING.

Proposal:
Create a new 'Hanger' simlar to the "Deliveries" button.
This 'Hanger' can hold like 1,000,000 m3.
You basically put all your loot you want to 'Toilet Bowl Sell' into this hanger.
Now you "Undock"

By undocking the server grabs what is in this hanger, and sells it for you. (All on the server side.)
Linking up all the items to the best sell order - and sells it.
When its done - it just puts the isk into your wallet (I don't care if its instant or takes 30 minutes).
Let the server do it on its own time / when it has time.

Anything it cannot sell, gets moved back into your regular hanger.
You get notified with a simple email about the isk recieved from your Toilet Bowl Sell, and the items that were rejected.

Think of all the server data that does not need to be sent to the client for all the users/players that do this.

Please vote Yes... I know there are many others out there who don't care for their loot, and just want to sell it without turning it back into Refined Minerals.

no on so many levels.

That is, unless you are selling me meta 4 items (that normally cost upward of 1M) for 100 ISK.

As someone who has profited immensely from missioners who sell off their loot without no regard for the price, I fully endorse the idea that it should be easier.

How about just allowing them to right click > sell on multiple selected items? It would just fill all the open buy orders, highest price first, until either the stock or the orders are depleted. Makes the lazy missionbears happy, and makes me rich too.

Ive made my money off missioning, and don't want to spend my time 'cilcking and looking up prices'.

I have things to do in real life - and would rather mission than to do that.

+1 to Banjo's idea - "Multiple Sell" option is sorely needed .... I personally don't care how it might be implemented ... through right click or a Toilet Bowl icon somewhere, whatever ... if people are going to dump their trash loot on the market anyway, why make it more difficult by requiring them to multi click/sell each stack individually?

I remember training Scrap Reprocessing just to avoid all the trash sell/clicking .....

What happened to the traditional shift-clicking to sell items.

That only works for selling one stack of identical items at a time ... if you have 100 different stacks, you can't currently sell them all in one go ...

To sell them all in one go - one by one - takes over an hour.
It was brutal.

Right click - sell all - done.

Give me my millions and let me go and play the game.
If i wanted to sit in jita and look for deals on the market and play the market - i would.

But I would rather go blow some things up before I gotta get back to real life.

  • Win for server load.
  • Win for lazy missioners.
  • Win for traders.

I don't see a downside to this. +1 from me.

So basically what the OP wants is for people with "Buy" orders grossly under the actual sell value to make even bigger profits due to other people's laziness.

Basically you're trying to trick the stupid out of more isk.

I not only say no, but I see no problem in this either. My head hurts.

It's easy to protect the stupid. Put warning boxes that tell the user that multiple sells that they will be taking the best buy for all units, regardless of how far from the regional avg the price is. But I really don't see how this is any different than a seller who is just dumping product or salvage and can care less about the price. I personally think that people who are price sensitive won't be using the basic sell dialog box anyway, so it's no big deal. Most people really just want to dump their booty, regardless of the price. I think there are way more lazy price insensitive sellers than stupid sellers.

No. They've always been free to find out the fair prices of their loot and list it on the market accordingly. What they do now is this:

right click > sell >ok
right click > sell >ok
right click > sell >ok
right click > sell >ok
...
right click > sell >ok
right click > sell >ok
right click > sell >ok
right click > sell >ok

What I want them to be able to do is:

select all
right click > sell >ok

There's absolutely no difference in the amount of isk they make.

I would support this if it had some sort of penalty for using this feature such as a 25% penalty on all isk gained from the sales.... otherwise, no.

I wouldnt do it that way, but having a batch where you can push your stuff into the market with given prices would be a good improvement.
Also this should be repeatable, once you setup a price, would be nice to just repeat the same action and leave fast. Would help everyone.

I am assuming you have never gone to jita and it was so damn slow due to lag, or never could even jump through a gate cause it was so busy.

I do not agree with your 25% penalty - setup a buy order for 25% less - if you are the only one - you would be the purchaser.
There is no need for 1 million clicks to sell 100's of items that I will never ever use due to skill / or character traits.

Part of the problem could be that there are so many "instances" or "versions" / Variations of the same part its silly.

Do we really need 3 version of a 1mn afterburner T1 ?
In most cases you will just buy the best one anyway....

We will have to agree to disagree on your comment.
