Self-assembly would be nice, moreover for the Minmatar ships – their ship (?) design (?!) goes just fine for that, I suppose. So one can get a standard glue-and-paint-it-yourself package that could interest both EVE players and modellers/hobbyists alike. That would bring in more money and indirectly spread EVE to a wider audience.

edit: Also all the navy frigs (thats are some of the best looking ships IMO)

I would like to see something like the Gundam model kits (google it if youre unfamiliar), so i'm suggesting a few ships I think would go well in that style. Something thats not just a blob (like the vexor) not to flimsy (like the breacher), but something that has a distinct shape and would fit into your hand well.

Difficulties with something in the style of those Gundam models would be deciding how many pieces need to snap together. You need enough to interest the hobbyist (like myself) but not so many that the model is just a collecting on tiny plastic panels to be glued together. The Gundam models work because of the number of moving joints in a robot model... the ships of New Eden lack actuation (excluding the Marauders and the new Tristan).

Would be awesome that you can customize your fit the way you customize a Proteus ingame. I already have the poster of the Proteus and I would love to own this as a shipmodel. Size should be close to the Megathron Model.

as a model kit builder i would love to see it come as a kit you have to assemble and paint yourself.
i dont know if thats just me, or other people agree with this.

also, concerning what ships?
i think it should be the 4 famous battleships. the megathron, the Scorpion, the apocalype and the tempest
also, to see the different special pirate faction ships could be sweet. such as the machariel, nestor and nightmare

Similar size to the old ones - The Tempest model was appropriate size. The Apoc was way too small - I don't have the other two though to compare.

T3 ships but on a modular level. So you can combine them together as you want. 20$ per subsistem, or something, and you can order whatever you want, you can trade amongst each other with stuff and so on and so forth.

I see the benefit of having some small collectables frigs (i.e. Kinder egg size for frigates etc, would be cool to have a few and lay them around my desk). Ready painted with stand like this maybe: http://www.federationcommander.com/Newsletter/September_2010/images/FederationFleet.jpg
I also see the attraction of ships which are to same scale as the frigs. e.g dessies, cruisers, bc's.

Then the scale needs to change for the bigger stuff. Forget the Avatar which is soo big it needs a special edition which might be at least 30cm in length, it would need it's own scale, the capital ships and battleships could have their own scale.

I also think a special edition Pod (gold or green) would be excellent, which can be taken apart to reveal the insides, empty or maybe including the clone? (that would be a cool thing if it was lit from inside by battery)/USB cable).

Painted and pre-assembled. Lighting would be cool if not cost prohibitive, and could be battery operated. I wouldn't want cords all over the place. 6-10 inches (10-25cm) in size.

Would like to see a Talos model.
