Hi all,

Just looking for some info, I've been subjected to a couple of suicide ganks the last couple of months, just wondering how to get in on the action! If you can't beat em, join em, right?!

No I know that Hurricanes and Tornadoes are the go to ships but as I don't have the skills what would be the Caldari version, the Naga? Now I wouldn't be using T2 mods but I'd be pushing it for all out damage as you'd expect and I'd be selectively targeting my kills.

What do you guys think, does it achieve a high enough alpha to pop a hauler in one cycle before Concord come to ruin my day?

As my post is about the Naga, and that thread held no information about the Naga, thanks for the useless link.

Your thread is titled Caldari Suicide Gank not Naga gank. Do try to keep up, its your own thread FFS.

Post 15. Also if this is the way you thank people who try to help you its no wonder you keep getting ganked.

I'll be nice. The only Caldari ship that is in any kind of common use for suicide ganking is the Moa. The Naga is not used because it doesn't match either the DPS of the Talos nor the alpha of the Tornado. That isn't to say that it can't be used, just that other ships are better for the job.

there's your problem. moving 600m worth of stuff in a t1 industrial.

no wonder you got ganked.

now back to the topic at hand, as Haedonism Bot said, the Naga does not have the dps of the Talos nor the Alpha of the Tornado. And if you read the link to a similar thread, you'd know that the moa is the only decent ganking caldari ship.

Most common suicide gank ships:

Catalyst (Cheap, medium dps)
Thrasher (Cheap, medium alpha)
Vexor (Cheap, high dps)
Moa (Cheap, crap dps, tanks sentries)
Brutix (Expensive, high dps, tanks sentries)
Talos (Expensive, extreme dps)
Tornado (Expensive, extreme alpha)

Caldari ships generally don't have enough low slots to fit enough damage mods to be able to put out enough Alpha to suicide gank.

it is clear to me that the naga is totally useless as a gank platform. Only a fool would use them..... er.... hmm..... I uh.....

There are a lot of methods to gank a lot of things. There are also a lot of module slots that can be fit many ways. I like the naga. It doesn't hit as hard as a nado, but it shoots a lot faster.

There are several consideration. Ship/module cost. The bottom line part of your equation.

Rate of fire. Volley damage. Sec status of system you're ganking in. The how much damage you put on target before CONCORD part of the equation.

0.5 makes the naga a good choice for certain tactics. The higher the sec status of the gank system - the lower the worth of the naga in the equation.

BUT THE MOST IMPORTANT THING.... he can only fly a naga, so it's his best choice. I mean, heck a dare devil to web, a hyena to multipaint and swagalfar at optimal can probably oneshot most ships in empire. But there are some drawbacks to that approach. Sometimes you just use what you've got.

Indeed. That become an agent post has some really good insight into getting started in ganking. There is also a guide to ships and skills to aim for. Contact any agent and ask for tips and tricks, we're generally pretty open to helping others get in on the fun. But don't be surprised, making high sec a better place is hard work!
