Hello,

I am looking for a Hyperion duo fit, with the sole purpose of camping LS gates.
this will probably involve a remote armor repper in the highs, and I am guessing blasters over rails.

Anyone here that can help me, or know what I am talking about?

Why would you want to RR a ship that gets a repping bonus? Single RR only really works if you have a group doing it, using 1 RR on each other won't tank anything at all. And that's even before you take into account RR range, possible ECM and, again, the ship's rep bonus being wasted.

I don't think RR is such a good idea on the Hyperion. Firstly, it doesn't has resist bonus. Instead local rep bonus. So RR isn't such effective compared to local rep. I for one would fit the ship in that way. Which means 1-3 local armor reps, cap booster(s), resists. Secondly, the tool slot is very valuable for neut or even more important a smartbomb. ECM drones can ruin your engagement.

For spider tank, I'd prefer the Dominix.

Not trying to discourage your fun, but...

A blaster Hype is probably one of the worst gate camping ships to go with.
Almost everything can out run it.
Almost everything can kite the blasters.

As others have mentioned, 1 RR will not save you.
RR Battle ships are best flown in groups of 4 or more. With 2 RR fitted. Ships like the Dominix, Typhoon, Tempest, can all fit dual RR, so even in a 3 man fleet, you're getting 4 RR as support.
For a 2 man crew, neuts will be a better tool to have.
I have flown a LOT of gate camping RR BS fleets. Your concept is sound, but a 2 man crew needs every possible advantage they can get. I don't think a blaster Hype gives you any advantages over anything.

That said:
I have fought against several shield fit Hypes. They pump out amazing DPS.
I have also fought against a solo Hype pilot with amazing skills, lots of experience. (Loren Galen, look him up) I had a feeling he was nano fit maybe, in any case, he would de-agress, jump gate, try and get a kill, jump back, etc. etc. 4 of us never did kill him :P

Wat he said. Or at least bring some sort of tackler.

If you want to try it anyway, here is a fit that should fit your interests:

Lows:
1600mm Reinforced Steel Plates II
Energized Adaptive Nano Membrane II
Large Ancillary Armor Repairer
Energized Adaptive Nano Membrane II
Large Armor Repairer II
Magnetic Field Stabilizer II
Internal Force Field Array I

Meds:
Prototype 100MN Microwarpdrive I
Heavy Electrochemical Capacitor Booster I
Heavy Electrochemical Capacitor Booster I
J5b Phased Prototype Warp Scrambler I
X5 Prototype Engine Enervator

Highs:
3x Ion Blaster Cannon II
3x Neutron Blaster Cannon II
Large 'Solace' Remote Armor Repairer

Rigs:
Large Nanobot Accelerator I
Large Auxiliary Nano Pump I
Large Trimark Armor Pump I

Needs one 1% powergrid Implant, (costs around 1 Million ISK).

Try to get a 3rd and run Domi's!

3 domi's with remote reps can lock a spot down very well for such a small group/budget.

Do exactly what you are thinking but with Drones to ruin smaller ships. 15 T2 sentry drones can ruin a day quick.

Use the high slots as you see fit. It doesn't have to be all guns.

They also have a lot less issue with the ECM since the dps stays going and sentries can put the hurt on cruiser size ships with a few upgrades.

Thanks for all of the responses guys!

About the Domi's, what type of fit would I be looking at then?

That depends a bit on how much teamwork you can muster and what kind of targets you will run in to. BS are slow and slow to target, so the vast majority of targets will slip through the net and the only thing you'll be able to catch is stuff that wants to attack you. As such 2 BS just isn't a logical choice for gate camping.
