Why Is There No Skill Affecting Reload Time?

Because it would be awesome if I didn't have to wait 10 seconds every time I went through a load of ammunition.

I'd like to see crew chiefs implemented for stuff like that. Gunnery specialists on your ship's crew? Shave two seconds off reload times.

Engineering teams assigned to boost warp core output? 4% increase in warp acceleration time.

The crews are marginal upgrades to things that don't really warrant their own skill. The average battleship carries over 6000 crew. Capsule pilots automate a lot of that, but there is still a crew aboard those ships. I'd like to see that at least referenced. That was one of the only interesting parts of Star Trek Online.

That is a cool idea though. Would add more variety to how you fit a ship.

I was asking why there wasn't one, because I'm sure CCP has already thought about it.

Also, F&I is where ideas go to die, although pubbies generally tend to ruin anything that's posted on the EVE-O forums. This thread is regrettably not an exception.

I just think it'd be interesting to have to pay your crew. It'd be an almost nonexistent cost to us capsuleers, who deal in fortunes for every mission, but havign to swing by a station to replace one of your crew chiefs who got taken out by [signature exploding console] would add a little element of realism to the game. I'd also drive home the fact that technically, every time you screw up, hundreds of people die.

EVERY TIME. Capsuleers are jerks who throw life away. Run with that.

It's only ten seconds. It's not really worth a whole skill. Even if you cut that in half, it would barely be worth the time you wasted training it up. That's why I suggested a different mechanic to address little things like that.
