So, instead of just warping to a planet and selecting whos beacon you want to blow up. how about change it so that the only thing the DUST guys do is throw up a beacon, leave choosing the target to the EVE player, by bringing up an overhead map of the battlefield with all known (as in within scan range of an ally) hostiles and the EVE player can choose what to attack.

Consequences of this would be that the EVE DUST community communication would have to be more important, as you would want to KNOW whos bombarding so you know they are competent.

new skills, perhaps one to allow one additional volley per level, or one to decrease the volley spread around your targeting reticule per level.

Possibility of AWOXing, you would want to make sure you knew the FW player in orbit, since they might be a spy from the other team trying to bomb YOU.

Possibility of missile-based bombardment, instead of just asaulting an area, missiles can ONLY hit structures/vehicles, gaining a target lock and raining down upon the target, benefits are more focused damage, but much less collateral, and your still not guaranteed a kill or that it would even hit depending on where the enemy tank is (like if it moves under a bridge).

open to opinions/comments/suggestions. Just think it would be cooler if the EVE side was a little more dependent on EVE.

I don't know that I agree with the EVE side choosing where to strike, that seems to be the entire point of having someone on the ground calling in a precision strike. It would be interesting, but it would take away power from DUST players and DUST is in a fragile state right now. There's also something to be said for the fact that anyone who doesn't play DUST will have almost no idea where to strike on the ground to be effective (even if it's awoxing). If EVE players could see the location of everyone (or even just blues) on the ground it would break the scanning system in DUST.

But I do agree that there needs to be something more to keep EVE players interested in shooting the ground. Currently only the person shooting the ground sees -any- animations, and even that is just the standard gun animation shooting the planet and seeing a small planet animation. Don't get me wrong, it's neat but there should be something more with it and something that other players can see as well. It seems that you only get less than half of the kill mails to share, which is a little frustrating.

To me, on the EVE side, PC OBs are mostly about getting fights in space, but until PC expand into more regions it's not going to be too interesting for fights. FW OBs have the same idea in mind but in actuality it's another LP installation so you get stabbed dessys all day instead of stabbed frigs.

Still needs work, I just hope DUST makes.

With regards to this, I would definitely like to see this happen. If for no other reason then let it be because in the EvE trailer (I think for Incarna), it showed the betrayal of DUST units on the ground as the EvE player turned his guns on their position. I want that ability too.

As for the stabbed dessies, well that's a whole another topic, but a quick fix would be to not allow orbital strike ammo to be fired when stabs are fit. Something with the sensors and trajectory paths corrupted by the warp stabs blah blah blah....

dont have much time to type or respond to anything,a t work. just pointing out though, they would only see all blues, and hostiles that those blues are within scan range of (basically, they can only see what DUST players themselves are able to see), this wouldnt break the DUST scanning system, it would require it, and be used in the same way it is now when a DUST player is tying to time an OB in that no vision = no targets.

I think there are both technical and gameplay reasons why the dust merc chooses the drop point.

"**CCP is changing policy, and has asked that we discontinue the bonus credit program after November 7th. So until then, enjoy a super-bonus of 1B Blink Credit for each 60-day GTC you buy!"**

Never forget.

and i figured there probably would be, there always is, and beyond that this would make part of DUST dependent on EVE giving a ****, which CCP doesnt want because both games must "be independent at their core".

still would like to see missiles added as a "homing" OB that could only target vehicles, with minimal collateral damage outside the vehicle and its immediate vicinity (could target dropships, but missiles would be slow wnough to turn hittong one would be hard), if only because missiles dont have an OB yet and thats not fair.
