Bastion modual missile balance

since all bastion weapons get a range buff, there all balance is this regard

but missiles didn't get a tracking buff like the rest.

so bastion module should also provide a 25% bonus to Target painter effectiveness
this will help to buff the missiles more than turrets, providing a better balance between the turret tracking bonus and missiles lack of bonus

Since it does not give a tracking buff for guns...
Besides, if it gave a TP bonus, gunships and fleetmates would benefit just as well, so it should be missile explosion radius/speed.

"We want PvE activities to require active participation and mirror PvP more closely." Stacking penalty for NPC EWAR then? Lock range under 9km from over 100 in a BS is not fun. Nor is two NPC web drones making me crawl 10m/s. PvP SW-900 x5: 75m/s.

Does bastion give a tracking bonus?


Well, not a tracking buff, but you could argue like this:

Bastion for turrets:

- increased range
- better hit quality through more optimal/Falloff

Bastion for missiles:

- increase range


HOWEVER, it's intended to be that way. Missiles and turrets both have their advantages and are balanced arround that.

So,

Optimal and falloff isn't a tracking buff, sorry. But the Golem could get a +5% damage bonus instead of the 7.5% target painter effectiveness bonus...

Wait a sec...

Turrets get better hit quality through more optimal/falloff, the two of which together are the range of a turret (think of ACs with 4km optimal and something like ten times as much falloff with proper modules on some ships).

Missiles get increased range, which is also increased hit quality (going from 0% damage to 100% is quite a buff, wouldn't you agree?Blink)

More shield modules. I am personally not a fan of the Golem (or Marauders, for that matter) because they're light on tank - heavy on gank (as in magnet). Navy Scorpion with 380k EHP tank for the win...

Sensor boosters so you can lock (and then kill) things faster.

As for replacing the TP bonus with a damage bonus, if the raw damage is enough to equal out the loss in applied damage from TPs, then I would be okay with it.

Pon Farr Memorial: once every 7 years, all the carebears in high-sec must PvP or they will be temp-banned.

That's what FoFs are for… It would be, but I'm not optimistic we'll ever see it. We argued the point in the original Marauders thread about all the others getting damage bonuses, but to no avail.
