Something like this should be okay in a small gang. Not sure how well it'll hold up in solo, it's slower than a Navy Augoror. I didn't put on a DC because I'm assuming you'll have logi.

[Zealot, Small Gang]
Heat Sink II
Heat Sink II
Centii C-Type Adaptive Nano Plating
Armor Kinetic Hardener II
True Sansha Energized Thermic Membrane
True Sansha Energized EM Membrane
1600mm Reinforced Rolled Tungsten Plates I

Experimental 10MN Microwarpdrive I
Warp Disruptor II
Dread Guristas Stasis Webifier

Heavy Pulse Laser II, Scorch M
Heavy Pulse Laser II, Scorch M
Heavy Pulse Laser II, Scorch M
Heavy Pulse Laser II, Scorch M
Heavy Pulse Laser II, Scorch M

Medium Trimark Armor Pump II
Medium Ancillary Current Router I

The zealot is a not a very good solo, small gang boat. especially for a HAC i.e. T2 cruiser price...

AHAC fleets is where it shines at... i.e. AB Zealots.

Save some isk and go with a navy omen... maybe something like this :

Quote:
[Omen Navy Issue, SmallGang]
1600mm Reinforced Steel Plates II
Damage Control II
Energized Adaptive Nano Membrane II
Energized Adaptive Nano Membrane II
Heat Sink II
Heat Sink II
Tracking Enhancer II

Experimental 10MN Microwarpdrive I
Warp Disruptor II
Fleeting Propulsion Inhibitor I

Focused Medium Pulse Laser II, Multifrequency M
Focused Medium Pulse Laser II, Multifrequency M
Focused Medium Pulse Laser II, Multifrequency M
Focused Medium Pulse Laser II, Multifrequency M
Small Unstable Power Fluctuator I

Medium Anti-Explosive Pump I
Medium Trimark Armor Pump I
Medium Trimark Armor Pump I

Hammerhead II x5

the small neut requires a 1% cpu implant but is not really important...

As almost every laserboat you will have to manage your cap. same goes with the zealot so you might want to swap the web for a small cap booster regarding fleet PVP. so you can mwd around and laser pew pew people .

I would use both ships mainly with scorch TBH.

Also : The zealot fit posted above looks good as well but the navy omen basicaly does the same. if not even better for way less costs.

I was Amarr specialized for couple of years and have to agree that laser platforms are best in gang and quite underachievers solo. For solo you want to be very close with good weapon system and tank like Galente or quite far and fast like Minmatar.
Smaller the ship, better if it uses less cap for damage - projectiles or missiles.

bad for solo - is it because lasers have such crappy tracking? could this be mitigated with TE's and rigs

(yesterday i fought a vexor in my tormentor for example and i couldnt hit his drones at all).

what about the sacrilege then? any good for solo combat?

Yeah, the lasers have bad tracking and the Zealot has no drones and it is slow so it is weak against frigs. Sacrilege is probably better for solo, it has a nice drone bay, plenty of mids and a neut.

For your Tormentor, you can use a web and your own drones. If you're still struggling, then just burn away from the drones and try to get some range on them while they chase after you, basically the same as NPC rat AI.

Zealot - Shield Nano

Heat Sink II
Heat Sink II
Heat Sink II
Damage Control II
Nanofiber Internal Structure II
Nanofiber Internal Structure II
Beta Reactor Control: Capacitor Power Relay I

Experimental 10MN Microwarpdrive I
Large Shield Extender II
Large Shield Extender II

Heavy Pulse Laser II
Heavy Pulse Laser II
Heavy Pulse Laser II
Heavy Pulse Laser II
Heavy Pulse Laser II

Medium Energy Locus Coordinator II
Medium Energy Locus Coordinator II

That Zealot fit is a great anti-support ship in a small gang supported by a scimitar, but when running without logistics, a MAAR Nomen is far superior.

Real men don't need the CPR, they fit more DPS or a DCU and just boss cap manage.

Also I prefer a Metastasis instead of one of the Locus.

But this post is good.

Liam you don't need the cap recharger thingy if you're fitting no point to it. Do double TE by dropping a nano and cap and then get a resist rig instead (probably em but you could do therm if you're more meta).

With exception of blob HAC warfare, the zealot is outclassed by the sac in just about everything for brawling and the nomen for kiting.

Unless you're flying in an armor fleet with a bunch of logis and other pilots (the so-called ABHAC doctrine), the Navy Omen is always the wiser choice:
- cheaper
- faster
- utility high
- drones

Have a look at this article on TMC (yea yea I know). It's got a nice video of a dude soloing in an Omen Navy Issue. His fit (and clone) really aren't all that expensive.
