At that point, you'd have to actually start paying attention to EVE, and that's very difficult for the typical highsec miner.

I mean, if you're paying attention to EVE, you saw those blinky reds jump in system. That gives you time to dock up, so no need for logi!


Honestly, most "logi will save me" miners I see park the barge, park logi ships, and start the reps and leave. They tend to come back to lost barges and logi ships.

I suspect you would be better off putting all your alts in Procurers or Skiffs rather than having a few in logis not mining.

Thing is, even with logis, tanked orcas and procurers and warfare links, you are likely going to get far more profit over time mining untanked and writing off any ship attrition from ganking against the extra profits made. Just good business.

Wait... you question my physical aptitude, and now, my reading abilities? Well sir, for your information I DID leave my wallet at the gym, thank you btw, and second of all, I read semi-decently sometimes. I read a WHOLE page of National Geographic today WITHOUT glancing at the bare chested persons on the next page! That's probably more of a testament to my razor sharp focus rather than reading abilities though. I also type rather well too, if those skill come into question, as they might...my capitalization skills seems to be rather random on this response so FAR. There is goes again..wierd.

Anyways, you wanted to know IF logi could save gank targets, and im pretty sure I answered that. The question wasn't ever about the reasoning behind ganking your Hulk with logis (the hulk having logis..although ganking a hulk USING logis would admittedly be funny as hell...), or the ethics of the individuals performing the gank, or the profitability of ganking a target being repped by logistics. Yes, I WOULD sacrifice a BC to take out that Hulk, YES just for giggles, YES something something tough guy complex something (I admittedly blanked out a bit on your post, probably my sub-par reading skills..sorry about that) if that makes you feel better.

Back when I did highsec mining, I fended off 4 destroyers from ganking one of my hulks by fitting shield transports to the orca which I had in a belt with me. They did get me into structure, but the orca doesn't have any bonuses to logi. So using a logi frigate would work, but it depends on how many fly in on top of you.
Also, the range on shield rep is massive. So you may as well orbit at 30km or so.

I would say it would be a crap-shoot - Shield Logi rep at the beginning of their cycle, Armour at the end - if your plan was to just afk them, its guess-work whether either would cycle during the gank, even if you have had the sense to stagger the reppers to give you decent coverage. Now, if you are at the keyboard, shield logi is viable, as you could activate the rep once damage starts, and get a guaranteed spike of rep exactly when you need it (even more so if you have the nerve to wait til your shield is gone and your taking armour damage)... but doing the same with armour would likely be pointless, as by the time your repper has cycled, odds are you are dead (or you activate it too early as you see them warp in, and take a boost of armour rep while you are still in shields).

Why would anyone keep the logi and/or ECM support on grid/uncloaked?

Rush in, rep and lockbreak, miner zips out, reships to HACS/T3s/other expensive guff
