CCP,

Today, I heard about your new patch and all that came with it, both good and bad. I left your game roughly two months ago, after the fiasco with your customer base. It was my deep-seeded personal belief that you had forgotten how to love the game you made, and respect your customers.

With all of that said, having heard that you were trying to tune back in to your player base, I decided to try and give you another shot. I figured I'd simply hop on my main - hit the Hours for PLEX button, and go whizzing around space like a madman, and for the first time in three months I was excited about EVE again.

And then the reality came crashing back to me. Hours for PLEX didn't show up on the website (I checked on multiple browsers). When I decided to check on my other accounts to see if the option would show up there, I found you'd kept charging one of my accounts despite deactivating all of them two months ago. I could file a petition - and wait for three to seven days to hear back. I could be upset, and dispute the charges. Instead, I think I'm just going to go back to feeling how I did before.

EVE is a realm of unlimited possibility, with the potential to be anything it wants. It's truly one of the only standouts in an MMO genre that is doomed to be dominated by clunky WoW clones for the next decade. It even looks as though you've started to realize that it's possible to love your game again.

But you still don't know how to treat a customer. Even a past one.

I won't say I'm quitting, and that I'll never be back, but at this point, I'm just as disgusted as I was three months ago. Other MMOs may be carbon copies of WoW, but even they can grasp the simple concept of the customer filling out the paycheck.

To CCP: I've cancelled the account in question again. I'm not going to file a petition, as I don't feel like waiting over a week for a response - especially when other companies (which I won't name here, out of respect) can get back to me quicker (in most cases within an hour). Show some class, yeah?

From everything I've read, there's no real explanation of why it simply doesn't show up for some accounts.

Thanks for focusing on the inconsequential parts of the post there, Sunshine.

Quite possible he used the login for plex option in the past and then did not renew. The 4 hours for plex activation clearly states if you use the option and do not renew the option will not be available in future..

I've never used Hours for PLEX on any of my accounts, as I paid through my credit card - at least, up until I cancelled.

Turns out, even after I cancelled I was still paying by credit card.

CCP submit an email at the point of cancellation saying your subscription will expire after the time remaining in the billing period.

If you got that mail, you cancelled. If you didnt get that mail, you cancelled some subs but not all. do you think maybe that's possible?

I may not be getting the point here... but if CCP is still charging your credit card... shouldn't your accounts then still be active?

Yeah, one of them is, apparently. Not my main account, but a scout/industrial alternate account.

I had cancelled all three accounts, however I did PLEX this account after cancelling - as my industry still had some finishing up to do.

The only thing I can think is that despite me cancelling the account after applying a PLEX, it resumed billing my card when the PLEX cycle ended.

But, I don't mean to derail the thread - I simply wanted to make my peace. Thanks for all of your responses, even the guy who called me an idiot.

CCP is known for thier lack of customer understanding / responsiveness - lets let them keep some habits and move on.

I trained Statue Shooting to 4 with multiple systems 2 .....Jita wasn't the only place we whined. And forum whining right to 5.

However CCP appears to be making honest attempts to deal with game issues now. If i was you i would resub and watch what happens this month - there are real changes with the "we better fix the game" expansion, and you don't have to just watch - you can find useful things in the changes to do.

Industrialists are having a great time with this expansion and pvpers are finding some new if wierd opportunities

I guess the brilliant suggestion of, upon seeing the first illegal charge on your card, contacting the card company and ordering them to not honor any demands...they'd have no problem with that...so...makes someone wonder...

Paradise is like where you are right now, only much, much better.

It isn't an issue of money. It's fifteen dollars.

Consider the fifteen dollars a tip from a long time player of the game.

It's the principle.

I want to like EVE, really, I love the game. But the company behind it can't provide even half-assed customer support. It speaks of a lack of character. If a company truly loves the game they make, they should put the work in to respect the people who pay to play it.

There shouldn't be glaring holes in service, such as some people easily able to access an advertised "Hours for PLEX" service while others can not. Or accidentally continuing billing on an account when you've been notified of cancellation through your own account management site. There's a number of other things which many people chuckle and go "Well, that's EVE..", as well.

I love EVE. I played it for a very long time. However, without an improvement to CCP's relations with their player/customer base, I simply won't play the game.
