It's all about supply and demand. There just isn't enough supply for the demand.

Also the Angel's carrier are vertical.

I would like to have a 'round' super about the size of a small moon. it has to have a single giant blaster on it as well. To balance it out, it will need a tiny hole located on its surface somewhere that can only be accessed by frigate sized pests. If they manage to get two firecrackers dropped into this hole, the whole thing gets blown up.

Vertical....pffftt! you guys dont come up with anything original anymore. Roll

Pain is inevitable, but the suffering is optional.

This is possibly one of the worst threads in the history of these forums.  Locked. - CCP Falcon

You just reminded me of something I need to pick up.

I can see it! I can see it!

Because vertical ships are dumb and would never work from an engineering standpoint without sacrificing tons of efficiency/functionality.

Space is like jello, how would a vertical carrier not glide through jello better than a horizontal one?

Because drag. Water is not near as thick as jello. When was the last time you saw a vertical submarine?

Space has no density, and so there is no drag. So it doesn't matter what shape the ship is, that is why all the NASA ships have wingy bits sticking off them, because aerodynamics only matter on earth or on any earth like celestials, and not in space.

Having said that, going into warp could possibly produce some drag, although as there is no such thing as warp technology in real life, any supposed drag would be simply speculation.

I agree as to real life. However, I thought he was getting at the whole "fluidic space" BS that is perpetuated in EvE lore.

Why not a circle shaped ship? And I don't mean a saucer, but rather a ring with empty space in the middle?
Or a square (think Borg Cube)
Or how about in-between longways and vertical, something that leans at an angle, like maybe a flight of stairs in space.
Or width-centric, like the Catalyst, but much larger and more skewed at the width to the point of wtf.
Or, the perfect shape in space ever. A solid sphere.

Yes, can we please get a sphere ship so I can roam in a thorax escorted by a pair of these new battle spheres.

Nerf stabs/cloaks in FW? No, just.. -Fit more points -Fit faction points -Bring a friend or two with points (an alt is fine too)

Well that is not exactly a fully submerged vessel with meaningful speed potential. The top half remains above water and the whole thing is meant to drift with a minimal amount of propulsion.

Good find though.

Now I want a ship that's literally a staircase in space.

At eve down under fozzie with all sincerity told me that the fix to the hel was going to be a +20% more vertical per level bonus.

Buy your hel's now before they double in price.
