Ganking a rattlesnake?

How would you guys go about ganking a rattlesnake?
It would be passive fit with around 21k shields, 162 shield a second passive reg, and all resists are 80+...

I have been looking into it for a long time and I have not found a way, so what do you guys think?

Your best shoot is to get it with the resist modules off, otherwise its EHP will be high.

Ah, I see.
From what I understand it is one of the hardest battleships to gank because it is like a POS when it comes to tank...
If I can't get the ship without its resistance mods, it is not going to be ganked ...

Thank you for the imput

I it's like a POS but only when fitted with officer modules. That's the secret on how not to get ganked in a Rattlesnake. Blink

I fail to see how rattlesnakes could provide people with real trouble. Sure that rattler has 900dps tank but is that assuming a full passive tank with no active modules? Remember these ships only have t1 resists natively as compared to say an ishtar which does probably more dps on top of many other considerations.

The big one obviously would be to work on neuting him out. Once his resists go down then it's plain sailing. I would recommend using something like a pair of hyperions to hurt him. Fit large nos to a couple of highs and just run your repper. The combined 1500+ dps will force him to take evasive measures while leeching cap everywhere.

Pretty much this. An officer fit rattler can tank about 5-6 Taloses until they run out of cap.

True. But how many Taloses will the loot from that Rattler pay for? Thinking quite a few more than 5-6. Or how about we go cheap and use Catalysts instead? A single low-grade Officer Shield Hardener will pay for about 50+ fully-fit gank Catalysts. And I can assure you that no matter how well you tank your Rattlesnake, it's not gonna survive that.

The only way to make your Rattlesnake less likely to be ganked (cuz that is what OP is really asking), is to be unpredictable. Don't fall into patterns where gankers can predict your movements. Don't make your ship a loot pinata when it can survive any L4 perfectly well with just T2 mods. Don't use stations with "kick-out" undocks. Don't use auto-pilot. Don't sit on the warp-in beacon of your missions, always keep moving. And y'know what, even with all that you can still be ganked. If somebody really really wants to kill you, they will. All you can do is make it a hassle for them.

You can kill it after undock before it activates resists or you swap 2 guys from damage to geddons full of heavy neuts and they will neut it dry in first voley. Now you have <10sec for hardeners to shut down.

Usually mission rattlesnakes are with purger not extender rigs so you have around 100k EHP to go through (damage control will be still on). If he uses extenders that you will have to act like its frieghter kill regarding number of people doing damage.

Just use passive tageter + ship scanner and scan his setup.

Assuming you are asking for a hisec gank the answer is (almost) always more tornadoes. As said above, add in a couple heavy neut geddons to clear the hardeners and then it is all alpha to power down past shields to the soft chewy center.

The catalyst comment is fair, but at that point beyond 12 ships it becomes difficult to amass that many *accounts* more so than the ships. It becomes hard to gank with dessies due to simply not having enough people/accounts willing and available to get involved.

Crime, it is not a "career", it is a lifestyle.

lolno, unless you're talking about an invuln or an estamel. Or you're talking about t1 gank catalysts.

Only 21K shields? That seems kinda low.

You don't even need Officer modules. Pith-A with a DC2, SPRs and a MJD can still flied @ 366K paper tank with @1.4kdps passive rechargeShocked
