The longest I waited for a petition was over a week.
But it wasn't as urgent.
Just hope that the guy will skill your character in right direction then everything will be ok when you get it back :)

Ugh I fear it will be more along the line of all of his assets sold and the isk transferred to a RMT alt.

I hope CCP can fix this for the OP.

I would imagine that once CCP confirms that the owner isn't the person logging into the account that anything done from the time the petition was filed would get rolled back.

They can't "Rollback" one character. Just like how they can't remove any skills implanted in your skull. They'll just replace ISK, and whatever major assets they can.

I have an open petition since Saturday (20140315-3562522-AB65AF4A) regarding not being able to access my account. Received a response asking for account info, and then it was forwarded to "billing." Today I log in and my main account char (which I cannot access) is logged in and in a different corp. I responded to the petition that my account has been compromised, but nothing. How long do these things take?

That should teach you for:

A. Giving someone else your account details.

B. Buy stuff from shady websites.

I really love when people do stuff that gets their accounts stolen and then come over the to forums complaining.

and I love people who assume Facts and make them up out of thin air. neither of what you said has ever happened on my account. In fact I rarely play I just log on to change my skills.

So, how did someone else got possession of your character.

Only other option I can think of is:

"password" is not a GOOD password to protect your accountP

Neither is 123456789
Or any other easily guessed code.

Basically, any random reason why someone got your log in code can be traced back to a shortcoming of your own actions.
As the odds are that someone randomly guessed your account name is between zero and nill
Odds that they then randomly match your password to that account name is even lower.

P.s. Option B can happen even without you knowing. There is something called Keyloggers...

I would actually like a response from a dev/gm on this: it has been over 4 days with no response to my petition, the character remains logged in and has been played according to battleclinic.

I know most people dont care, but if it were your account, the account should at least be frozen until the investigation is completed. This hasnt even been done.

Try petition it from this one under the "Stuck" category. It might be abusing the system, but it's the only way to get a GM response fast. I've had to petition hacked corpmates accounts as they were disposing of assets/selling the character in the past. Still took a week to resolve though.

8 days and counting with no help from anyone at ccp. Petition remains unanswered and the hacker remains playing my main.

14. Bumping outside the EVE Marketplace and Alliance & Corporation Recruitment channels is prohibited.

The bumping of posts to alter the order of the thread listing on a forum is prohibited outside the EVE Marketplace and Alliance & Corporation Recruitment forum channels. Within the EVE Marketplace section of the forums, each forum category has its own rules regarding acceptable bumping for sales threads clearly listed in the stickies.

22. Post constructively.

Negative feedback can be very useful to further improve EVE Online provided that it is presented in a civil and factual manner. All users are encouraged to honestly express their feelings regarding EVE Online and how it can be improved. Posts that are non-constructive, insulting or in breach of the rules will be deleted regardless of how valid the ideas behind them may be. Users are also reminded that posting with a lack of content also constitutes non-constructive posting.

The forums are not an appropriate feedback venue for CCP's GM team. It is not their duty to read the forum, or to respond to anything other than support tickets. Please use the support ticket system, as it may be. You can submit a new support ticket (which may bump you to the end of the queue), or just wait. It is also possible that the GMs are fully aware of your problem, and are just taking their time with the investigation. Whatever it may be, bringing it to the forums accomplishes nothing constructive at best, and amounts to inflammatory posting at worst.

Thread locked.
