Petition Response Times??

I have an open petition since Saturday (20140315-3562522-AB65AF4A) regarding not being able to access my account. Received a response asking for account info, and then it was forwarded to "billing." Today I log in and my main account char (which I cannot access) is logged in and in a different corp. I responded to the petition that my account has been compromised, but nothing. How long do these things take?

It depends.

No, seriously. How much information you can provide and what you put in the original ticket, exactly what they need to look into, how well you can prove you are the rightful owner - and you sent a petition on a weekend, it's only Monday lunchtime now. Whatever you do, don't just spam more petitions...

I know it must be frustrating seeing yourself logged in, but once it's sorted out they can reverse or negate most of the potential damage.

I am pretty sure that CCP takes this kind of petition very seriously.

Unfortunately, this kind of problem usually also tends to be quite complex and not something that can be solved instantly...


Edit: If you lost your account due to visiting shady websites and buying ISK there, you might as well confess now, CCP WILL find out!

I've sent a few petitions/tickets in the past, and recently, and I always get a reply within 2 days (usually the next day). To be honest, considering how many **** petitions the GM's and Devs need to sort through I'm actually impressed with their response times. So +1 CCP for your excellent support service! <3

For things like this (hacked account) it does not seem uncommon that it takes a week or two before its sorted out from what i have been told.

The wait might be frustrating, but this also ensures that everything can be checked and double checked and leaves no doubt about who is the proper owner of the account and the assets.

Running to the forums about petition response times is like sitting in a rocking chair. It gives you something to do, but it doesn't get you anywhere.

Write that down.

How serious is this? Who are your other characters?

This is a separate account that was not compromised. My main is 130m sp 2006 char! Pretty serious! Guy accepted my convo, I called him a "piece of s***" and he closed convo.

Give CCP some time, creating multiple petitions isn't going to make it go faster!

This is why people should change their passwords frequently/not share accts/good antivirus....etc etc

I dunno how they handle these things nowadays, but I remember WAY back in the day I had my account hacked. CCP locked it and emailed me letting me know that my acct was hacked. After a few days and my **** returned, all was well.

What really bothers me is that my character is still being logged into (even as I write this, my char is online).. and no response from CCP since Sunday.

The longest I waited for a petition was over a week.
But it wasn't as urgent.
Just hope that the guy will skill your character in right direction then everything will be ok when you get it back :)

Ugh I fear it will be more along the line of all of his assets sold and the isk transferred to a RMT alt.

I hope CCP can fix this for the OP.

That should teach you for:

A. Giving someone else your account details.

B. Buy stuff from shady websites.


I really love when people do stuff that gets their accounts stolen and then come over the to forums complaining.

and I love people who assume Facts and make them up out of thin air. neither of what you said has ever happened on my account. In fact I rarely play I just log on to change my skills.

I do not know exactly what to say here, and I really cannot help you out here.

Its best just to be patient.

Can you log into that acct?
Can you gain access to it VIA password reset?
Is there an API key to track any movements of items?

If/when you gain access to that account/character go through all the transactions and contracts. Then you'll have a dumb idea of what went where, and go from there with CCP to get it back!

I would imagine that once CCP confirms that the owner isn't the person logging into the account that anything done from the time the petition was filed would get rolled back.
