I hope this is a good place to ask this question.

I'm a new user, so I thought I'd come and frequent the forums because I'm a forum person. I also like to learn things and discuss things (especially lore related), so this seemed like a perfect place to do so.

However, I'm not able to post in some threads or start topics in some forums. Is this because I'm new or is it because I'm a trial user? Any answer would be much appreciated, thanks :)

As soon as your no longer on a trial account you will be able to post wherever you want, but if your interested in the lore i would also like to point you towards the EVE reader which is an excellent way to get to hear some of the chronicles while you play/go for a walk/take a drive/whatever.

There are also several ingame channels you can join where you can ask questions and such related to the lore. Check both the EVE fiction section and Intergalactic Summit, im sure you will find some of the channels listed there.

And if all fails, mail//convo one of the frequent posters in those sections and ask them for pointers.

There is a trial restriction on the forums for the sole reason that us vets would otherwise **** up the forums with numerous free trial alts.

So CCP is simple with that rule, trials can only post in NCQA.

The moment you are a paid subscriber, you are free to post anywhere else.

Not just forum alts, mains too. Big smile

Although in saying that I wouldn't waste a character slot for a dedicated "forum alt". All my alts enjoy a variety of extra-curricular activites ingame too!

Honestly CCP are quite lenient on the boards. In many other communities I'd get a warning for some of my posts, then a ban after a few have been accumulated. Here I just get my posts David Copperfield'ed. Bear

Actually this is the only forum where a vet HAS to kinda be nice to you :P. Takes a while till you get used to the eve culture.
