Are Machariels viable?

I've been considering getting a Machariel. I hear a lot of people talking highly of it, but I don't know. I look at it's stats and compare with my RLML Caracal and I just feel like there's no way the Machariel really compares with that sweet grey goose-thing. Am I missing something? I mean I know the Machariel has better DPS, but only with worse tracking. If I put small projectile turrets on it, it can hit smaller targets but its DPS is way lower than the Caracal.

RLML Caracal FTW! Did you really think some Minmatar POS that's been rebuilt by the Angel Cartel would compare to superior Caldari technology???

I agree with the OP that the Caracal is much better looking than the Machariel.
