I love the EVE community.

Hello.
Reading a few negative posts about the EVE community being bad, I felt I should make this post so that those who genuinely love the EVE community can have their opinions heard.

Firstly, the general trash talking, griefing and competitiveness is hilarious and a good thing.
Figures like Grath Telkin, The Mittani and Shadoo aren't evil, they're downright lovable.
Seriously, sometimes it's ok to have some villainous traits.

In fact, one could argue that some who many consider "villains" make the world a better place.

Please share your positive experiences with the EVE community, so we can show these haters that we enjoy the culture EVE has created.

Seriously, this is the funnest game, with the funnest "meta-games" and the funnest people I've ever been around, and I've been playing MMO's since they started. Rallos Zek vet here, any others?

It's the lack of "rules" that most other mmo's have that make this game FUN for me. Those who dont like it don't need to play, in much the same way that you wouldn't go watch a horror movie if what you're realy into is romantic comedies. I don't mean that in a dismissive "lol, go back to WoW" way, I mean it in a logical and sincere way. Not everything is for everyone. There are LOTS of "nicer" games out there. There is only 1 Eve. Can't those of us who like this playstyle have our fun too?

I first heard of this game on a message board called anti-state.com. It was billed as an anarcho-capitalist paradise, and it has delivered.

There are no "bad guys" in Eve, imo. Just shades of "looking out for #1"

tl;dr I feel the love in every shot Blink

I love the EVE community!

I do however hate the small vocal minority in it who try to morally and socially blackmail the rest of the community to conform to their subjective personal "expectations" (that they don't even live up to themselves).

Them I do not love. Them I shun with extreme prejudice.
Sorry, I will not love someone who tries to limit me, or dictate my choices in life.
Fortunately, they are few, misguided, incoherent and likely to move to hellokitty online soon enough.

Yes, you know who you are, and your selfish attempts to take our freedom for self-determination will never succeed.

The Eve community is a flame, and we are all moths. We know we will get burned for saying anything, but it just draws us in and we can't stop ourselves.

No, you completely misconstrued my message.

I am talking about those who complain about mining permits.

You basically completely and utterly misunderstood the actual message and to whom it is directed.
You should ask yourself why and how that is, that you could so completely have misread and misunderstood it.

You sound very upset.. Perhaps it's time for a break? And no i didn't misconstrue your post. I even read it 3 times to make sure I wasn't being a complete pleb, and the message is pretty clear to me.
Also, quickly glancing at your killboard would suggest you actually belong amongst the loving bears of EVE. And if you actually consider yourself to belong to the "other" type of player in EVE, then why are you whining about roleplaying and emergent gameplay?

Because I am not.

Read my previous post again.

You have completely diametrically misunderstood who my post is addressed to.

Its not to The New Order, its to those whining about it and other social fascists who think they have some right to dictate to others what is right and wrong, or how they should behave, by applying their own subjective moral beliefs onto them as if anyone else was accountable to those.

The New Orders choices ingame are perfectly fine. The attempts by social fascists to undermine the community here on these boards, by applying subjective moral pressure as if they had some prerogative to dictate morality to others, is not.

Im telling you one last time. You completely and utterly misunderstood who my post was addressed to.

No, lol.

Its not addressed to Goons either. By definition, not.

The New Orders choices ingame, and Goons, are perfectly fine. The attempts by social fascists to blackmail the community here on these boards, by applying subjective moral pressure as if they had some prerogative to dictate morality to others, is not.

Wth is wrong with you? Are you deliberately trolling or are you genuinely incapable of perceiving who it is addressed to?

I'm sure the person to whom it was addressed will be along shortly to derail yet another thread with how much better he is than everyone else.

Actually, several come to mind.

Who put the goat in there?
