Rubicon 1.3 loot spew?

Myself, and a lot of friends were very much looking forward to loot spew being removed in favor of perhaps more empty cans or less items per can to prevent saturation. We planned to do Data/Relic sites again, when we wanted to. We were currently not running the sites period due to spew.

The patch day arrived, with all of its excitement, but this detail seems to be left out.

I just did a data site, and to my dismay the loot still spewwed. I'm really disappointed.

Also, the drone chips seem to not be dropping at all. And why are the "prototype materials" still 1m3 each? You fixed scrapmetal to be much more manageable, but not this.

I'm really confused, CCP.

Thought that was supposed to happen this summer.

I have never read anything about plans to remove loot spew. Why did you think it would be removed in 1.3?

Yeah I think this was a summer change, but I'm looking forward to it regardless. Did some Data sites and it's just not worth the time to do the hacking game and then out of the mill and a half in loot (in hisec anyway) to lose half of it because

a) you got all the cans but only because you were with someone else and have to split it
b) you missed half the cans because you were alone.

You're just better off farming anoms for faction spawns, the Isk per hour is FAR higher.

Instead:

1 - Go to 0.0 space and scan
2 - Use a cargo scanner

summer EXPANSION. not spring PATCH

how to fix eve: 1) remove ECM 2) rename dampeners to ECM 3) add new anti-drone ewar for caldari 4) give offgrid boosters ongrid combat value

i did sites in 0.0 for 4 months out in omist and feythabolis, they werent much better than highsec. literally the ONLY way to make isk with exploration that isnt embarassingly painful and worse than mining, is to pray for faction BPC spawns, because otherwise relics drop little else than salvage, which is worthless, and the only thing that datas usually have that SHOULD be valuable to some degree are the interfaces, but because interfaces are repairable for almost no cost, no one in EVE wants them resulting in those BPCs and parts being worth less per m3 than carbon.

TL;DR:
I made an assumption contrary to all the evidence that has been presented so far and was surprised to find out it was incorrect.

Again, meaning you've already made benefit of the "loot spew" and now that you've exploited it enough to where you feel you've reached your fill, you want to prevent others from the same opportunity.

You can continue to not do sites as long as you want if you wish to avoid it, no reason for your want of it being changed needing to be more important than the many others who wish for it to stay how it is.

Almost no one likes it. They got about a thousand people (and close to a hundred threads) vocally suggesting that it be rolled back in the first 24 hours after it was implemented.

I don't mind it much personally, but it's pretty stupid, it serves no purpose other than to try and show off fancy, but ill advised programming.

If you like it then you're in the minority, and in the wrong. Nevermind that they already promised it would be removed.

Loot spew is being removed in the summer expansion.

Good riddance to it too.

If anything, loot spew exploits the players, not the other way around; and if you can find anyone who wants it to stay, you've probably found a ganker who likes the spew mechanic because it distracts explorers from their d-scan for a short period.

I hardly think the OP is jealous that others might be able to get loot spew in the future because he is sick of it and wants it removed to prevent other players from gaining it.

It's one of the worst mechanics in the game and could not be removed soon enough. That's been a consistent sentiment in the community since the day it was introduced - hence why CCP are planning to remove it I suspect.

It 'may' be removed in the summer expansion. A single Dev has made a comment. This is not a cast iron promise, don't go getting hopes up unrealistically then raging despite the fact they never actually promised it's removal in summer.
When it goes into the Dev blog as part of Summer, then we can be a bit more sure.
