This character will be sold via Dutch Auction. As such the price starts higher than I expect to get and every time I bump this thread I will lower the price. The first person to send ISK equal to the current price will receive the character. There is no reserve: the price will continue to drop until a buyer is found. It is just a matter of seeing who will be the first to send the ISK. Let the count down begin...

That is the way a Dutch auction is intended to work. The price starts very high and drops until the highest bidder finds it acceptable.

This is in contrast to an traditional auction where the price starts low and bidders keep raising the price. The reason I am not using that type of auction is that I have no way to force the highest bidder to pay the price offered and other bidders have no way of knowing if they are competing against real or fake bidders. With a Dutch Auction that is not a problem because the only bid that matters is the first one to back it with ISK.

The auction has only been running for two days. At this point in the auction it is mostly about giving people a chance to notice that the character is available and time to get the ISK ready if they are serious about bidding. If you (or someone else) is serious about making an offer and wants me to accelerate the auction, then please contact me via Eve-mail and we can negotiate terms. Otherwise, pick the highest price that you willing to pay and bookmark this thread. If you are the highest bidder then you will get a chance to buy this character at your chosen price. If someone else is willing to bid higher then they will get the character.

It's a Dutch-style auction, it starts high and will get lower. You basically have to balance between waiting for it to fall, but getting it before someone else bids for it.

Interesting idea, but will come back in a fortnight to this thread if you intend to lower by 5 bil each day.

I am not in a hurry to sell the character. Honestly, I am willing to run this auction for another month or two before I reach my low-end target price for this character and will keep going longer if my low-end estimate proves to be too optimistic.

I have mentioned before that I would be willing to accelerate the auction if there was a serious buyer who wanted to get this character in a hurry. If you are prepared to make an offer that you are confident will not be beat, then contact me via eve-mail and we can negotiate terms. If you are hunting for a bargain, then you will need to wait patiently for the count down to reach your price point.

PS: When contacting me a good place to start would be letting me know what price you would bid at if the auction continued in its current format and how soon you want/need the character.
