20KB a second on a 50Mb connection... this launcher is just awful. Every patch since rubicon has been a nightmare to download. Better off just freaking redownloading the whole game.

Just chiming in to say I'm in Texas with AT&T Uverse, and the only way to measure how slowly my download is proceeding is with tar-drips.

Texas Uverse and 10 min til training queue finishes! All internet is fast but not Eve auto-launch download. Even manual full install downloads fast. CCP owes me big time for this one!

CCP, give us a manual patch download option with high speeds!

Give us a way to update the training queue through the browser already!

repair.exe proved the best solution. Download speeds averaged the same as downloading the update file directly from the unpublished location: http://content.eveonline.com/708191/EVE_Online_681196-708191_win.zip Interestingly, repair.exe noted a lot of files which needed repairing.

Any updates on this?

Sisi update downloaded at 42KB/s average today.

Offline installer downloads very slowly as well so its not just the launcher.

So trying to download the client for a new computer build and after three days of trying when at home I'm finally up to 4.63/5.62gb....... now at 22kb/s with DSL. Nice how CCP ignore this thread and are dismissive of petitions. How do they think their new player count will ever go up if it takes a week or more for someone to download the client?

I am Uverse, TX as well. That seems to be a common link.

However, the past couple of patches have been noticeably quicker.

I finally fixed the issue. The Realtek lan driver was the problem. I uninstalled the Realtek driver through the device manager and had windows use the generic driver that comes with Windows 8. I now get full download speeds.

I did not realize it at the time but this was also affecting all http downloads, while leaving Steam a few other programs unaffected.

So if anyone is still having slow downloads and you have a Realtek lan driver this might be your solution.

Reformatted my computer and redownloading Eve from the godawful installer. Been downloading between 50-120kb/s. Any reason why this is when I downloaded Guild Wars 2 at 2mb/s?

Do you get the same download speed with the offline installer?

Try the generic windows lan chip drivers like I did in the post above.

I am attempting to come back to eve... after 5 hours of downloading I'm at 21%.. .I mean this wouldn't bother me if I had dialup but I have a 24 meg line though att uverse in Reno Nevada. I tried the http download link and it was just as slow as the installer. I tried to download it on 2 of my other machines and had the same result... I think Eve is having a real issue. It seems they have been having this issue for a few weeks. I'm thinking I might be better off not getting back into the game if the support doesn't exist anymore.

Just curious if people are still having this problem...

I'm trying to download today's patch and it's going between 3 KB/s and 10 KB/s. I downloaded at this speed 20 years ago with 33.6k dial-up.

For me this problem still seems to exist as well.

Who is your ISP?

I have AT&T UVerse and this is a problem that seems to only affect me when I try patching from my home connection. If I connect through a VPN, tethering on my cell, or at a friend's house (who has Comcast) I get a patch download speed roughly in line with what the connection should be giving.

The hop between 108.235.68.2 and 12.83.80.153 is timing out. Not sure what that is.

Uverse in St. Louis. Launcher started the first time. Five hours in I got to 33 percent, only to crash. Now I can't even get the download to start. Every single patch download is more brutal than the last, but this one has knocked me offline for the entire day. I have one training queue already empty and more ticking down.

CCP?
