Try closing and opening the Launcher Window, sometimes for whatever reason it decides to quit. (also make sure you don't have a client window open.)

Yes it is the same for me. I have tried several times, also with rebooting between trying. The launcher does...

nothing

That progress bar at the bottom just stays grey, trying to interact with the launcher gives me grey screen warning that it has stopped working. Task manager shows an initial network spike for around 1 second, then sweet feck all activity.

Get used to using .exe, almost forget how much I hate this launcher!

I seem to have a working download finally.

Nothing worked via the launcher.

Running .exe shortcut instead fixed the problem and seems to be making progress.

So don't try to patch using the launcher (I thought that is all that it was good for?!) but instead use the exe and allow it to update itself and launcher the long way.

Run the Repaair Tool. If that fails, file a Petition.

We cannot help you.

That's cute, but I've had more success discussing issues with players than ccp with things like this. Players can indeed help other players, especially with regards to nuanced issues. If you noticed, in that state I could not run a repair as the launcher would throw a grey screen when an attempt to interact with it was made. If running .exe might save a thousand pointless petitions from people trying to use the unresponsive launcher then thats a good thing.

Using exe and updating the long way around has worked flawlessly btw. I am now logged in.

I'm fairly sure that launcher breaks the Geneva convention for psychological torture :p

This why avoiding the launcher as much as possible is a good thing. As I'm sure you've already found out - find the install folder and run repair.exe directly.

Perhaps a launcher news item that says avoid using the launcher would be helpful.

See Bio for isk doubling rules. If you didn't read bio, chances are you funded those who did.

As those before me have stated, use the Repair Tool (Repair.exe) found inside your EVE folder.

I had the same problem with the launcher. It attempted to download and install the patch and it broke the client. I couldn't launch it, or log into the game. It told me to launch the Repair Tool and sure enough it detected the issues and took care of it for me.

Curious though, the launcher was telling me everything is good to go yet the repair tool detected 1.23GB of data the client needed. I don't know if it was to replace missing/damaged files or if that was actually the patch data that the launcher just didn't bother trying to download at all.

Either way, lesson learned. The launcher is made of lies so from now one I'll be bypassing it.
