This is partly a question and a statement. Sorry if this is the wrong place for this or if already posted.

I recently sold a c5 w/ c5 static on a well known wormhole sales site. I was very ready to get scammed, mess up or just plain botch the deal.

I posted my wh on the site and about 10 mins later I got an in game mail. We agreed on the price and I asked my buyer to meet my alt one jump away, in hindsight two jumps away would have been smarter. The buyer gave me half the isk and then we fleeted up and jumped one system over to my toon sitting outside the wh, should have been inside it! second mistake. When I fleeted up with my buyer I was in an atron (third mistake), we met in low sec and he commented on how this looked sketchy, I apologized and realized I should have met him in a shuttle. He jumped into the hole, liked what he saw and paid me the balance. I was kinda shocked it all worked out.

Any advice for how to sell wormholes properly / well? I think two jumps out, half up front and meeting in shuttles is good, he showed up in a jaguar..? I know a lot of folks say use a broker but from what I know Taggart is having issues currently with scammers in their public channel.

Cheers.

PS - Fastest isk I have made in Eve since 07. Was a lot of fun. Think I want to do it more!

This doesn't belong here but you probably used this http://wormholesales.com/ to sell your hole. The corp that works with that site has members that act as a 3rd party so your isk is safe while the person you are selling to inspects the hole.

I did that for a month or so as i like to have the ''mmm i haven't done that yet let's try it '' phase i get every few months .

old salesthread

I did ask full deposit up front every time wich is hard with the first few buyers but after a few have given a good comment it get's easier and easier to ask payment up front.

Basically just comes down to being patient , being as clear as you can and helping out as much as you can with the transaction process. The same for anything wich involves isk and trust basically like 3rd partying etc.

Be sure to scan for dead towers and bm them , give the bm's of the dead towers to the new buyer too , he probably will be interested in those.

For newer players this is indeed a verry good way to earn decent isk , although it get;s boring fast too.

We are all born ignorant, but one must work hard to remain stupid.

I've sold a number of holes over time. I don't hunt for them but if I find a nice unoccupied I'll try and sell it.

I generally do 50% up front for the known space entrance system and the remaining 50% once the buyer has entered the hole and confirmed it as I described.

I always offer the buyer the option of using a recognised third party at their expense.

I've only had a problem once, and by sticking a combat alt in the hole I was paid the remaining 50% within 3 days.

whenever i find one i want to sell i ask for 100% up front, and i'll give them a location 5 jumps out beforehand.
the only leverage you have is the location, give that up and it's over.

if they're not willing to trust me then they're welcome to enlist the help of a third party, because i'm not in the mood for paranoid bullshit or other shenanigans.

the amount of timewasters you have to deal with sometimes is a major pain in the ass, so i kinda stopped doing it for less then a billion per hole.

don't let yourself get lowballed (yes that magnetar c5 is worth 1b easily)
make sure that you're dealing with somebody that has the isk and controls the descision (the amount of times you have to deal with a spokesperson with no isk and no authority is mindboggling)
don't let them locator your character (negotiate via an alt or stay in w-space)

and never ever hold anything back, no forcefields but 15 towers? say 15 sticks in space but no forcefields

you really don't want a 3rd party'd deal to go sour over such a poor excuse while they're already inside.
make it absolutely crystal clear to the buyer and 3rd party what they can expect to find
