Bots as a rule, don't get stuck in space and sit there doing nothing for hours.

New Order being good for something? Never thought I'd see the day!

How much herp could a herp derp derp if a herp derp could herp derp.

But the parent of small kids would, especially if scram'd by NPCs. Or if the person was easily amused (or multi-tasking) and wanted to see how long you would sit there and bump him.

I think we're all 90 to 99% sure it's a bot. However, without definitive evidence, there are enough anti-social, afk at a moment's notice, alt-tabbing, multi-tasking, players that it is probably not worth banning an innocent.

Oh they do. Supercaps have been lost due to the bot encountering something it wasn't ready for.

The two easiest ways for them to catch botters:
- Commands/second are too fast or too consistent for what a human can achieve

jup 3 hours is way too fast.

Bots are legal now as long as you do it by proxie. You have to do it through IS Boxer, prefferably with a hundred accounts.

If it gets stuck for 3 hours trying to find something that isn't there, it's a bot 99.9% of the time. Anybody in this thread pretending that they know how CCP's anti-botting measures work is lying because those are trade secrets. If you reported a real bot and it's still running around, it's possible that they're just gathering data on how that particular bot works until they have enough to identify similar bots. But that's just speculation.

When was the last time the Order did anything against a bot? Lol

Or CCP is waiting to see if the bot is being used for RMT. Or the bot is small fry and not worth the effort. Or maybe it will get banned in a very public wave of bot banning. Or something.

Although you would think if the suspected bot is repeatedly trying to loot the mission container (e.g. Worlds Collide) it would be a dead giveaway.

OP has been going out of his way to harass a specific player for the last two weeks? Isn't that against the ToS? Shocked

It's not a "player".

And furthermore, I would argue that it's neither out of his way, nor harassment. If you don't like somebody, chasing them around to kill them or screw them over is perfectly within the purview of the game.

Screaming at them in local constantly for days on end? Harassment.

Sending them tons of evemails, and when they block you, making an alt to spam them again? Harassment.

Killing them a bunch of times? Stupidity on their part.

OP, they won't ban someone who they even suspect of botting. They will only ban when they have physical evidence to support their claim beyond reasonable doubt.

The two easiest ways for them to catch botters:
- Commands/second are too fast or too consistent for what a human can achieve
- Timing between various commands is always perfect, something a human cannot achieve.

Issue is, all well-made bots use human-like behavior now, with varied delays between actions. It's almost impossible to detect a bot without trying to get a written response or some response that the bot isn't expecting.

Edit: Hell, an old corpmate had such an amazing bot that it actually accepted convos, and would look for keywords, then give the closest response possible, and if it didn't see any, it would write "I don't understand you" in some barely used language. The creativity used in making bots, usually exceeds average player intelligence nowadays.

Hi all

im writing here because i dont know what else i can do...
i see everyday a botting CNR in my home system... i reported him as bot already about 2 weeks ago and he is still flying missions.

some days ago i stole his mission loot 2 times and every time the bot failed and stuck, means he was sitting there for 3-4 hours (until i have to go to sleep) doing nothing...

if there is no mission loot im using my macha to bump him away from acc gate that he cannot complete the mission.
he never answers me in local when i call his name and say "happy botting again"
also he dont answer my mails
about 3 days ago i wardeced him and he changed corp

i already wrote a petition which got closed instanly with a copy paste answer.

why is CCP doing nothing about this? they only want the $ ? i really dont get it

think i have to gank him with some tornados

So far I have observed that CCP is very slow to deal with bots. I reported someone for botting over a month ago(using the report bots feature and through a ticket). The guy is still in system 15 hours a day mining.

This. If he truly is a bot you should have no problem scanning his fit and finding the weakness. Then when he is in mission gank him. Since he is a bot you could wait to time it for when you know he has a high amount of DPS on him from rats. That pod won't jump out and I bet it's juicy too plus all the fat lootz

So... Care to link his name?

Do you seriously think that botters pay subscriptions?

Indeed, i thought the whole point of a bot was to make money so it pays for itself and more. Otherwise the person who uses it might as well just buy a plex
