POS-based non-combat logi

so, we have pos guns,ecm,etc etc, why not POS reppers, weaker than a normal repper by 33% or so (numbers up in the air, dont care exactly the amount), maybe usable in combat but probably not, DEFINETLY not allowed to be used on the POS itself.

these would basically e useful for trying to keep guns alive (reppers on POS guns only usable by a pos gunner), main use for repairing roaming fleets who stop by instead of having to dock up.

will flesh it out with proper grammar and detail in the morning, getting it written before i forget the idea in the first place, figure it would see use by some people.

I'd use this when all of the following are true.

1. I'm in friendly enough space that it has a POS belonging to my corp, but has no station within several jumps.
2. I'm in a shield fleet, have armor damage, and nobody brought armor rep drones.
3. I didn't bring a depot with armor/hull reps.
4. Someone has both the needed skills and the correct roles to operate the POS guns.
5. It's not just easier and quicker to fly to the nearest friendly station.
6. I have enough damage I can't just ignore it till roam is over.

So...basically never.

It's a neat idea, I just really don't see it ever being useful often enough situations to bother actually putting it on any POS.

It could be useful in W-space. Not as something to use during a roam, but to repair ships up after you get back from the roam instead of having to fit a hull repair module just to fix up your ship.

Make it so that it will only target things that are within the POS shield.

Not compelling but could have its uses, probably all these ideas will get incorporated in some way when the pos architecture gets revamped. But considering what is involved in bringing down a deathstar, it would make it invulnerable, so while for ships i believe it's ok, but nothing else and definately not guns or ewar/ecm.

I agree with epicurus in that repairing the guns should not be an option. Once we remove POS modules from being affected by the logistics module it opens up another option: A POS module that you place ships/modules/drones inside and it repairs them over time. You put your stuff into the module and leave it to be fixed up overnight while you sleep.

Not something quick enough to be usable in battle.
