Yes, I'm using UI 90%. And menu size 9.

The small fonts in chat (A- button) looks very nice compared to the same sized text anywhere else (the wide spacing is a NEED for the small text so +1 on that). Why you no make it universal?


90% scaling does not work the same as when you make the text smaller in chat.
This has been stated a few times on the forums as has it been explained that 90% is for those who are willing to loose some readability to more window space.

I think it's pretty unfair to post a pic of text where a lot has been changed in your settings (font size and scaling, specially 90% scaling) to prove your point of the font not being readable enough. If you want to use 90% scaling I recommend you use a larger fontsize in your context menus.

The new font kind of reminds me of the old exodus days. As long as it is readable I don't really care.

couldn't you tell that from what system you were jumping out of?
only the first 2 letters matter anyway in null, and they are seldom repeated in the same system.

If I can see the good font in chat why is it not used else where in the UI on the same screen? Why is it not making sense?

Why make excuse? Why say "it's for those who want to give up readability" to make it sounds like a CHOICE? Are you not the one responsible to make it readable? It's on the same screen, why can't you make it work?

Where is my :Excellence:? Why am I wrong?

You're not wrong. The response was a pathetic excuse. Hopefully it will be filed as a defect and be repaired in a follow up patch. Just be sure to file a bug report and get all your friends to do so as well.

I do not like the new font and cannot understand why they wont make things ******* optional.

I hate this new font so much, that I'm seriously considering never playing again. This is a grade school font; not a spaceship font. I swear it feels like I'm in grade 6.

The slashed zeros are actually good, I like them.
I just don't like the way the lettering looks, it's very comic serif looking. That's really my only beef with it.

I do appreciate the effort put into trying to fix up the fonts. Yes you absolutely can use the UI scaled to 90% if you mess with the settings a bit and everything will be readable. It's just the look of the font doesn't fit the game or the times.

Didn't they learn anything from ship spinning?

Why not just hold off on the font until they can implement a method to let us choose a font to use rather than force this down our throats. Some people like brussel sprouts. I don't.

The new font looked great in the limmited samples i've seen.

Legibility is the top priorty to me... but I really am into fonts in other things I do so I didnt really get enough to have a judgement.

This forum font is fine... there is just too much text in too many small windows (if you're a person that likes the market window showing 75 orders of yours and the first 40 buy and sell orders on your screen at once) to sacrifce legibilty for style.

As people will want the text as absolutely small as possible to be legible and yet still give the maxiumum information possible within a single glance the limit will always be pushed in a way that always keeps legibility far above styling
