Warning to CODE - Sycophants are tarnishing your good name!

Last night, while waiting about 10 minutes for a few jobs to finish at my tower, I decided to take a Retty into a belt and grab a cycle of Veldspar (to slightly alleviate manufacturing costs to myself while having nothing else I could do in such a short amount of time), during which a "fellow miner" contacted me, "warning" me about an alleged enforcer who offered permits at the rate of 10m ISK a month (which, he went on to say, was much lower than the 10m ISK a week he claimed CODE demanded -- a statement I immediately confirmed he had intended to say).

This "fellow miner" (a phrase he called himself, which I must laugh at, as I dislike mining: I do it when I have not enough time to do anything else, or while on a late-night call for work that I don't want to pay 100% attention to [which goes straight back to that first part]) was a single individual in a personal corp who apparently didn't realize that it was possible to view employment history, as his history showed a fair bit of connection with the very alleged enforcer he was "warning" about. That isn't even taking into account a quick peek at both pilots' info on various killboards: information which showed av even stronger connection with each other (as well as several of the other pilots currently in the system, including an Orca and Obelisk pilot, all of whom were individual pilots in personal corps, all of which followed similar naming and ticker patterns).

This person spent about 15 minutes attempting to convince me that this alleged enforcer's permit was legitimate, referencing them as an "enforcer" and an "agent" on multiple occasions (once even dropping CODE's name, though never explicitly stating him as a member of CODE).

When I expressed my doubts to this "fellow miner" regarding their claims, and pointed out that they seemed to have a fair bit of connection with them, they began to back-pedal slightly, until, near the end of the conversation, he eked out a final threat, once more dropping the name of CODE, stating that "CODE patrol these systems on the weekend." Once I pointed out that this was, to myself, an empty threat, they (and the 8 others they were with) decided to simply block me, preventing me from further communication with them.

At this time, yet another corp (once again, an individual pilot in a personal corp, still following the same style of naming and ticker conventions that all previous had to this point) war-dec'ed me.

The pilot in this war-dec'ing corp must have immediately gone to sleep, exhausted from the day's efforts, as when I added him as a contact and attempted to inquire further as to his affiliations, I found he was no longer available. As I had been blocked by all other involved parties, I was unable to determine the source for their anger against CODE, and why they would attempt to tarnish your good name with their lies and actions. In an attempt to reopen the lines of communication with them, I've declared my own war against the Obelisk pilot's corp, but this has only caused the pilots (all of whom were, other than the Orca and Obelisk pilot, in Skiffs) to dock and log off.

Though I, myself, am not a member of CODE, I hope they will approve of my continued attempts at both communication and investigation with this sycophant, who would not only attempt to attach himself to the name of CODE, but openly lie of their permits and (quite affordable) fees at the same time.

Yeah, I'm a terrible story-teller, especially when attempting to write in a stylization of someone who tends to be very verbose (James, in this case).

Basically, I was short on Trit to finish a job, and there wasn't enough available nearby, so I was going to do a cycle on some Veldspar and just get it myself. Near the end of the cycle, someone convos me and was insinuating that a local ganker was a member of CODE, but completely bastardizing the information about CODE in order to make themselves appear cheaper and better.

I let them talk for a bit, and when I finally bothered to call them out on both the pricing and their affiliation with the ganker, another one of the person's alts declared war on me, so I returned the favor by declaring on their Obelisk's corp.

Sorry for the terrible post. I really am a bad story-teller, especially in an event where it was more humorous in-person than being retold after.

If true this sounds like a travesty of justice. I hope you will contact xxBLACK SKULLxx 929 ingame to help us deal with this threat to our reputation. I am more worried about your non-compliance though. Lets work on that first shall we?

Please purchase a permit and then send a nice evemail to James 315 telling the story.

So you confess to being a bot-aspirant! You should be worried with becoming code compliant b4 you worry about other stuff. The first and most important step would be buying a mining permit, I can offer you those for the cheap price of 10 million isk for an entire year.

Contact me via EVE mail so we can get this sorted out asap!

You kids are adorable. All the zeal of the spanish inquisition skit by Monty Python wrapped into a cuddly little bundle of blasters. I wouldn't come down too hard on OP, he's trying to point out some folks are tryin to do y'all dirty. Sure, he badtouched a rock, but as stated it's something done when there's just not time to get anything meaningful accomplished... you know, like fapping? One one hand, yes... not code compliant, on the other not exactly your target demographic.

You have to keep in mind that the mining permit is a great deal for miners, hell 10mil is pocket change for them over the course of a year... but on the other hand if you have someone who detests mining and only does it during odd moments during said year because they don't have the time to do anything else... well, it's nothing short of a bad investment. It's like buying a fishing license and only going fishing once a year. Wasted money; plus the threat of the game warden isn't exactly spooky to someone who has such a limited exposure profile.

If I were you I'd be more concerned about these miscreants who're apparently trying to tread upon your turf, perhaps even spreading their own deviant heresies based off the CODE.

Come hell or high water, this sick world will know I was here.

Are you swindlers still on about that permit thing? One would think you'd move on and actually do something productive.

I thought that this so called James 315 guy was a self proclaimed hero of hisec. Now he charges 10 million for a permit? Sounds like an extortion and a invitation to death to me tbh.

Unless we get to you first.

20 million seems to be the sweet spot when you tell pilots you are part of the order and that rates have gone up.

Anything above that and you are little more than a greedy pig. Like James.

The word "their" is not used in that kind of sentence young man.

The words you might be looking for are:

"They are"

or in short form: "They're".

And I scarcely believe they actually produce tears. The only tears produced are those from laughing too much when ORDERS pilots fail miserably. No evidence is ever posted of such failures by their pilots though. I wonder why, must have something to do with hotdrop-cyno-BLOPS pilots never posting their failed drops/deaths at the hands of the righteous defenders of freedom.
