I've submitted a bug report, as told to by the wiki, but we all pay for a subscription here and I'd like to get back into the game.
I'm playing in a VM on a clean, legitimate copy of Windows 7 Ultimate. The only thing installed is EVE. The launcher starts, I log in, I press play, and then a non-responding process I'm assuming is the client starts. It appears in the bar at the bottom of my screen and a process starts in my task manager, but I get no kind of HUD, display, or window popup for the client. The launcher just sits there and stares at me.
Has anyone run into this problem before? I formatted, reinstalled Windows, reinstalled EVE, I've cleaned the cache, started in safe mode, and repaired the client. Nothing has worked.
Anyone have an idea on what to do?

I've been unable to play on my computer for the 3 days I've had this account and this is getting extremely annoying. No one has encountered this before?

Launcher stuck at (2/4): Creating Eve_Online_730789-732915_Win.Patch: 59.4% - DOWNLOADING 3.69 MB / 19.56 MB

Was working fine before the patch Wednesday, March 5 where they added the 5 redeemable items.

One of my corp mates has had the same problem for days. Please find out why the launcher download does this. Thanks.

My launcher doesn't get stuck; I believe you have a different problem. Mine patches perfectly fine. It just can't launch the client correctly, methinks.

Has anyone been able to resolve the launcher issue?

I have tried running repair, re-installing and launching from the exefile.exe directly. In all cases the client seems to start by launching a cmd.exe window, which quickly disappears. The client never opens. A CCP ExeFile(32 bit) is running in my task manager but the client just doesn't open or give an error message, etc.

I am running windows 8.1 with 2 Radeon HD 7000 series cards. All other games work fine, so the problem is clearly with Eve.
