being able to repair hull and armor with nanite paste would give armor buffer ships a lot more independence for roaming in space without stations or allowing repairs when docking is not an option

it could work like this :
right click armor or hull bars, click "repair with nanite paste"
it would repair say 100hp per unit of paste and take 1 second per unit used

Edit: omg looks like I actually somehow manage to not post halve the post Shocked
if the ship takes damage the repair immediately stops, this should be tied to the gun timer so it can't be used to rep in small fire pauses

I thought this was what the ancilliary armour reps did?

Did anyone basically stop reading when they saw the word "independence"?

You don't get a "does it all" ship. There is no Swiss Army Knife in EVE, if you want hull repair, fit one. If you want armor repair, fit one.

But you can't handwave away the existence of those mods with the paltry amount of cargo space that Nanite Paste takes up. Yeah, you can do it with a depot and refitting to repair, as has been mentioned. But asking for it from just paste? Ridiculous.

One of ours, ten of theirs.

Best Meltdown Ever.

Good, thought I'd completely misunderstood these modules for a minute there!

That's over 200ehp a second, that's faster than most active armor mods.

the idea comes from this scenario
fought some people with a buffer tanked ship in a system that had no station and was forced to leave the fight and save up with no armor and hull damage, both gates camped, ship is cap dependent and uses a cap booster so carting around a depot would loose a lot of boosters
right now the only thing I could do is just log off
if I could use my nanite paste for repair I could try for an escape get killed or make it out wich is much more fun then just logging off

100/hp per unit /second might be too much/fast that was just from the top of my head
