Shortcut for d-scan?

Hey guys,

In Rubicon 1.3 along with the d-scan updates for range slider etc, do you think you could allow "Directional Scan" to be bound to a keyboard shortcut? Obviously it would open the scanner window if it wasn't already, but it would save people from mousing around the screen doing other things but having to get back to the Scanner window again to spam d-scan.

Cheers!

What dscan updates?

  • The Directional Scanner has now 2 input fields (km and AU) and a slider for range input. The 3 inputs are connected so when one is changed, the other ones update.
  • The angle slider in the D-scanner as been changed so it's non-linear and has even steps to make it easier to select the lower angles

  • Outstanding changes, don't know why they weren't announced in F&I (unless I completely missed them). Announcement thread here.

Alt + D isn't a short enough cut for you?

alt-d doesn't hit the 'scan' button on dscan, does it? or does it?

For posting an idea into F&I: come up with idea, try and think how people could abuse this, try to fix your idea - loop the process until you can't see how it could be abused, then post to the forums to let us figure out how to abuse it..... If your idea can be abused, it WILL be.

How about a module that pings dscan every few seconds? :p

Seriously, your telling me there are people who don't have D-scan open permanently?!?

    Amazing.

I have no problem with this suggestion.

its also a mess when you move probes around and the have to hit that little button every cycle.

Not exactly a shortcut but if you leave the cursor active in one of the d-scan text entry fields you can just hit enter repeatedly.
