I thought this was a post about the Sun being nerfed... /me leaves disappointed and relieved at the same time.

CCP, for shame... :) Still no reply?

Well, tbh, of the 3 Dev's I've directly asked about this, only Arnar - CCP Zulu, has been kind enough to reply. So, although he's now aware of the issue, you guys still only have 2 days left to make this warp effect 80%* more awesome. And bearing in mind that this is Sunday, I guess you've only got one...

Patch notes are up, CCP... the expansion is looking absolutely superb, and even has a few surprises in it, but...

Still, no reply, or confirmation that you plan on 'saving' the Sun... although, judging by the current Sisi build, you still haven't 'fixed' the warp distortion on the combat overlay, you may still have a plan to return the warp effect to full-awesomeness before tomorrow... as I understand it, it's pretty much a case of switching distortion 'off' for the combat overlay, and back 'on' for the Sun - like it used to be, on Sisi...

For anyone who's read this, and any of the other pages, but still isn't sure what I mean... this picture pretty much covers it.

Planets distort.
Nebulae distort.
Stars distort.
The Sun doesn't - any more - it used to...
The overlay distorts - it shouldn't...

My bug report on this days and days ago went to 'filtered', so I still have my fingers crossed.

Arnar, if you're reading this, and remembered to pass on our collective comments after the weekend, could you get a Dev to post a 'Yay' or 'Nae', please?

I don't see why they have to tackle the issue right this moment. Improving the effect with stars can be included later and it might be the best thing to make sure that this will all work out for everyone as it is. Never know what kind of deeply-rooted changes they'll have to make.

The best reason for doing it now, to be honest, is because it's 'easy' to fix - it was only switched off because of 'rational thought', as it were... Sure, it could be left to later - it's not a game breaker, by any means, but just look at the cyno-FX and how long it took for them to be returned after they were removed... I'd rather say something now (and stand a chance) - than leave it to chance, and know it could've been better...

The comments, both for this thread and the original, which others' started in the Test Server Feedback forum have been pretty unanimous in saying that tearing the Sun apart during warp looks bloody good.

Personally, I agree.
