I tried the less popular 'run and hit' tactic. I can say t hat it's less popular for good reason.

We hit them, they run.

Or sometimes we run to avoid getting hit.

It's mostly a game of pulling off tacklers/recons and killing them at planets and customs offices. If they are competent, you don't kill much and wind up dying a lot. If they suck (at either flying in space or fitting in station) you harvest lots of kills, no-MSE stealthbombers, 1 LSE/2 sebo Rapiers, afterburner Cynabals, etc.

I seem to be far more successful at running than the hitting part. Too many people whipping out a dozen BS's with guardian support for a couple cruisers. People today have no respect or interest in decent fights. Personally I blame quafe ultra.Lol

Best part of the game, everyone gets a slap.

A cov ops fitted with a painter would be fine. A Vigil or Bellicose works in high-sec well.

Best done in nul-sec, bombs can be deployed. Got on a KM a few days ago, innocently passing a 1v1, so threw in a torp and lit one of the guys up with the old target painter, and continued on my way.

In low-sec, it's more hit and wait for the aggression timer, quite relaxing

In high-sec, it's amazing the amount of times I've seen people de-aggro, with the intention of docking, then along comes a laser pointer, lighting up the target at the crucial moment, so the aggressor starts getting full damage, quite funny.

Concord do come and get involved, so full insurance and tec I fit is most apt, but also the most amusing.

As for the discuss, I like to lead with my left leg, left arm slightly forward, right arm outstretched behind me. With a purge of force the right arm is brought forward on a horizontal plane with great force, straightening up the torso and fling that metal frizzbe thing upwards and forwards, trying to keep it flying nice and smoothly to reduce drag..

Getting you on your feet.

So you've further to fall.

How about in ops. Just get in fast ships and blow up everything along the way?

Actually, that sums it up quite well.

If you are going for hit and run fleets, I would recommend nano BC ships, with MWD's and Warp Disruptor's, shield buffer works OK. They give a fairly good hit.

I would strongly recommend at least one scout,

It is possible to write a book on the subject, and I am a, "We are only out-numbered 3-1, I think we have this" kinda guy.

With the nano fit, you will have the option to disengage most of the fleet to cut losses for the run part.

From what everyone is telling me about sbs etc and nano bcs.

I've been thinking of fleet comps

So far i have

tackler, scouts = intys ares, taranis etc.

stealth bombers= nemesis, hound etc.

recons= arazus, rapiers, hounds

hacs and cruisers like cynabols or even stabbers

cloak up, probe, tackle, uncloack, pew pew?

Hit and run should involve Sleipnirs, Rapiers, Arazus (at a push) and Scimitars. Anything else is subpar to the aforementioned or horribly overpriced.

That said, do it with a Machariel for epic win.

No cloak? No worries. Having a cloak in this situation grants you very little because you are are clear as day when you all show up in local chat, unless you are in a wormhole of course, in which case a cloak becomes very handy indeed.

The added power of non-cloaky ships is essential to get any kills, else you will be doing a lot of running and very little hitting.

Yea, the characters above have a good point about the Stealth Bombers.

I think upto 8 same-type bombs can be launched at a target, without popping each other.

I lost a buffer BS, in a fleet, along with about 15 other guys to this tactic, it's on my KB someplace. Quite frustrating.

I imagine catching a fleet in a well placed bubble, then using this tactic, will get some good welps.

Why would you need fast hitting ships in 'Empire PvP' where your enemies are limited to a single corporation/Alliance, there's no chance of getting hotdropped or bridged and you know where all your enemies are all the time? (You are scouting, right?)

Biggest challenge in 'Empire PvP' is actually getting fights in the first place so you need to ensure they can't get away when you do. Go armour, you will want those free midslots.

2x Proteus (Points & Damage)
2x Loki (Webs)
1x Falcon (Lol)
3x Bhaalgorn (Neuts & Webs & Damage)

Oh, and don't forget 3 neutral Guardians either.
