Nyx & Thanatos working together

I wondered if the ship experts in the forum can help.

I'm trying to come up with a fit for a Nyx & a Thanatos that can work together to do anomalies.

I don't want to fit for maximum DPS on either ship. I'm looking for a compromise that allows good defense if a tackler comes in & gets either one of the pair tackled. DPS can take a back seat if it compromises potential survival.

The weapon systems on the Thanatos are sentry drones preferred with obviously fighters on the Nyx.

The skills of the pilots allow the use of triage, capital armor & energy transfer and ECM burst on the Nyx and heavy energy neutralisation.

One of my mates recently lost a Wyvern & whilst being a different ship class he was convinced that a web, target painter & MWD fitted in the mids might have allowed him to kill the Sabre's that had tackled the Wyvern. What's your view on having these modules fitted?

Can you please suggest fits for the Thanatos & Nyx.

Thanks for any help

tackler lands lights cyno - youre dead. by the time you lock, youve lost.

stop being stupid.

Your argument has validity. However it does not preclude the possibility of help being called to rescue you from a potentially dire situation. Hence why I'm asking for fits that could potentially survive the worst case scenario & who said that these ships are not bait to get a potential escalation. You assume that everybody flying this mix of ships is stupid.

People using supers and stuff to farm AND getting caught with their pants down deserve every piece of that soon to be super wreck. No sympathy at all. If you need advice on how to fit your carrier, or super you shouldn't be in one.

I've always had the impression that the best loadout for a carrier or supercarrier was whatever went into the slots on its subcap escorts. For unescorted capital ships expecting trouble, I've got no clue, sorry.

No matter what kind of fitting you put on them you will die when someone hotdrops on you after scouting your little PvE activity. You would have to fit a cyno and have a dedicated counter-drop fleet active at all times if you want even a remotely good chance of surviving, and who wants to sit around all day just in case you get tackled every day you decide to use it.

If you're convinced that your Thanatos and Nyx, fitted the right way, can kill off tacklers before they become a problem...

Load webs, painters, remote sensor boosters or whatever else you feel might help into the corp hangar arrays, load web drones or whatever else into the Thanatos and set the maint arrays for fleet use. Then you can simply refit a full range of ewar as the situation demands.

Of course I don't believe it will help but not being a super cap pilot who am I to say...

If you need Fits suggested to you in a freaking nyx , im sorry but you firstly shouldnt fly it and 2ndly who ever plans on using you as a " bait " is a moron . You shouldnt have to ask these types of questions , asking something around the lines wich is better option X or option Y i could probebly understand but by what you posted , yes you do look like someone who has no clue what hes doing .

Best defense on a capital is a cyno.

Your only defense is for the nyx to emergency jump to a cyno beacon before getting bubbled or hit by a hic.

If they drop a fleet large enough to kill a nyx, its going to be a fleet big enough to kill it quickly.

Because of the lesser risk and ability to use sentries, you should just use two thannys. Although that would require putting your nyx into one of those XL SMAs or leaving it floating in a safe pos. Two thannys repping each other or possibly going into triage is still no light matter to tackle and kill, however its way less of a draw than leaving your nyx out.

Yeah go with double Thanny, have them linked in a triage cycle (1 repper 1 cap), fit 1-2 heavy neuts and 1-2 heavy faction smartbombs in highs, sebo and web in mids (and ecm burst and drone links), tank and cap regen in lows.

Dont forget to carry cynos and ozone.

But the way this will play out is a t3 will uncloak and point you with dual guristas scrams, that t3 will be probably a brink tank proteus, and he will either A) light a cyno or B) wait for friendly subcap fleet to warp to him.

Chances are youre going to lose the carriers. if they are t2 fit then no big deal, but its risky.

A single carrier is bait enough, and can tank all anoms perma-afk anyways.

Two carriers have advantage that they can refit for 6-8 warp stabs, and smartbomb/neut/ecm burst their way out of points. VS a small gang anyways. A horde of interceptors orbiting you at 30km, thats a death sentence.
