Mumble 1.2.5 & DX11 Overlay - Please Help Fixing Hang Issue

The new snapshot versions of Mumble 1.2.5 had added support for the overlay when EVE is using DX11. Unfortunately, for some users enabling the overlay with DX11 causes EVE to hang shortly after logging into the game.

I reached out to the Mumble devs shortly after I first discovered the hang issue, and one of them has been working with me to find a cause. Thus far we have been unsuccessful, and though they have asked me to reach out to the EVE Community to see if we can get more reports and debug logs with various hardware configurations and whatnot.

Personally I have a laptop & desktop both running Win7 x64 with Intel i7 CPU's & Nvidia 600 series GPU's both experiencing similar behavior with EVE hanging shortly after logging into the game when the Mumble overlay is enabled.

Anyone else that is experiencing the issue and would post their debug logs here would be greatly appreciated. You can get DebugView here: http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/sysinternals/bb896647.aspx You also need to add an empty file with the name "debugoverlay" (no extension) into the Mumble app's folder, usually C:\Program Files\Mumble\

Then just fire up DebugView, load Mumble, and then log into EVE with the Mumble overlay enabled. Wait for the game to hang, and then save the debug log and copy paste the contents here.

I should probably get the ball rolling.

Here is my latest log from attempting to play EVE with the DX11 Mumble Overlay enabled. Note that Mumble works properly before, during, and after the hang, and that the overlay is working properly right up until the EVE client hangs.

Wow and here ive been blaming CCP for failing the patch... But yea I get the exact same thing. its as if it opens up some sort of memory leak.

when I start it in dx11 mode, ccp.exe will just grow and grow until it has all my ram filled (thats when it starts noticably hanging) then it starts filling Vram, all the while hanging the computer. Completly. So badly it takes 5 mins to close down the game.


But im glad I saw this post, I was about to give up on DX11..

I shall post a bug report later onto the mumble forums. Hopefully it shall help them get a DX11 overlay working! would be nice! DX11 just seems to run smoother on my PC, and the AA seems to be better.

But thanks for making this post! it all makes sense now!

Anyone else seeing this? The more data the devs can get the better chance they have of fixing it :)

Yes I am getting this memory leak as well, I submitted a bug report with nice shiny logs.
