I just trained Caldari Fashion Command V. I love how CCP develops new features in game to provide for different ways of play.

You're late.
There has been a thread on this for 2 days already.

But hey, I never excepted you to use the huge search field at the top of the page.
It just wouldn't have fit the picture of you that I had previously acquired.

No words...even space barbies is inadequate.

CCP, do you remember that this future is a cold harsh place? Right? You remember that? Because that was not cold and harsh. That was flamboyantly uncool. You look like complete buffoons. You have forgotten where you came from. Fashion catwalks belong, AT BEST, in the background of Eve. We can assume they exist, because people need clothing. We do not need them shoved in our face.

Hate to point this one out... but no one has ever said we're actually GETTING that. It's a feature for a fashion show. I have yet to see a date that CCP's paying customer's are actually going to get to use that... spiffy... catwalk.

Considering the poorly coded Incarna engine, I'd imagine it'd cause most people's computers to literally burst into flames. So for now, expect it to be used in that fashion show then tucked away from another two years until graphic technology catches up, or CCP fixes their code.

Does seem the whole point of that video is something to do with a fashion show, its not part of the game.

So people complaining seem to be wasting their breath.

While I'm still not sold on this Incarna lark, CCP still have a chance to bring it around for me.

Unfortunately this video made it a lot less likely. No wonder it's crazy overpriced, is there not a stained wife beater and jogging bottoms option for the virtual working class?

For a better look at what this is about: http://emergentbehavior.tumblr.com/

For those who think this is an in game feature or has anything to do with EVE game development; this was made for the BOFFO Designing Fashion pop-up store in New York city. It simply uses our technology. Our engine was used to digitize a real life fashion model (yes, including the tattoos) and display designs made by Nicola Formichetti.

Thank you for restoring my faith in what CCP does with my subscription fees.

The Leather-Teddy with the the zipper was extremely helpful at that.

I seriously doubt there's going to be a "fashion show" in Incarna, that's probably just a fashion animation to help the designer.

My biggest problem with the clothing and stuff is that it lacks the imagination, playfulness and flair that characterized the pre-Carbon EVE designs.

It's all so bloody generic now. Generic movie s-f, generic GAP, generic Gay Bikers In Space.

I bet they just asked that lady to look at s-f movies and combine the best bits.

Bad mistake.

What they should have done was ask her "what do you think a lost s-f civilization thousands of years from now would be wearing?"

Is that where Himlar buys his 1000 $ jeans?

Did you get free S&M Teddies for the 18 months worth of dev-time this must have taken?

Is that the Gayllente CQ?

Also, I'm still waiting for that contract...

Guess what buddy, CCP can do whatever they like with your subscription fees. It's their money. Does your boss tell you how to spend your money when you get paid?

Well, the page says:

"Formichetti's inspiring design has been fully realized into the virtual setting of EVE Online on a virtual avatar copy of signature model Rick Genest (AKA Rico the Zombie Boy) by the artists, programmers and animators at CCP Games using their own industry-leading technology."

Sounds kinda conflicting. Mhh, I wonder how these art fellows who probably have never touched a computer other than a macintosh can use your technology - just like that. Without any work involved by your own guys. Impressive.

You're right, it's not part of the game. It is however what CCP Dev's have been working on instead of Eve Online. Funny that.
