When you start doing level 3 missions, should you individually loot everything, leave it, or bring a salvage ship?

It depends on the individual mission itself. Now, I haven't ran an L3 in a very long time, but I would assume the same rule applies here as it does with L4s: Some missions are worth the added time to reship and return to loot and salvage, and some aren't worth even dropping an MTU, and some missions are better to blitz rather than killing everything. Best thing to do is to do some research on the mission you are about to run.

Going there, select the mission you're running. Sometimes people will leave stats on loot and salvage, time it took to clear, etc in the comments. Some missions may even have that information posted at the bottom. Failing that, you can always run the mission and try out looting and salvaging and decide if it's worth for yourself.

"Tomahawks?"

"----in' A, right?"

"Trouble is, those things cost like a million and a half each."

"----, you pay me half that and I'll hump in some c4 and blow the ---- out of it my own damn self."

Bring a salvage ship and loot everything, depending on the mission.

These are the rules I used to follow:

Don't loot/salvage if:
Rogue drones
No battlecruiser/battleship size wrecks
Mission site is 2+ jumps away (unless it's one of the big missions, like World's Collide)

really depends if you are blitzing for standings or just farming for isk.

If your blitzing kill what you have to and leave.

If your farming kill everything drop a mtu and bring some salvage drones for while your still running it.

from what I hear the only way to effectively farm lv3s is to lp blitz them.

if you want to farm for isk then getting a proper bs and skills and clearing lv4s would do better.

I got a 19mill isk bounty tick (full clear in less than 20min) this weekend running angel blockade in my vargur. I only recently moved to angel space and was 2nd time running it. Also made 12mill in loot during the same 20min (yey marauder).

Use an MTU and 5 salvage drones, assign the drones to individual wrecks and clear up the wrecks in 5-10 mins. Assign your drones to the nearest empty wrecks available and leave the MTU to haul in the wrecks containing loot.. I've found that the noctis isn't necessary on Lvl III missions so far.

Salvaging or even looting anything below L4s is waste of time. Yes, even for newbies it is more efficient to just blitz through L3s until your skills and/or standings are high enough to get into L4s.

Personally whenever I run level 3 missions, I'm doing them solely for standings reasons, which means any time looting is time I could be doing something more worthwhile. This may or may not be very useful for you.

Aim to run level 4s.

Your choice of battleship is really important though as some require a lot more SP to use effectively id recommend the following:

Apocolypse , Amarr
Maelstrom, Minmatar
Hyperion or Dominix if you have sentry drones for gallente
Raven caldari.

They are easier to fit and also train all your lows and mediums to tech 2 before you train for tech 2 guns only takes a couple of weeks to do this.
