Last news I read about this project was pretty grim (laying off staff). It seems a shame since this franchise from what I can tell would attract a prettty large following.

Also given that the game is focussed on vampires with no small emphasis on fasion, it also seems lucrative if you adopt a free to play module allowing for the purchase of non-game-changing fashionable clothing with real money (as other online multiplayer games are doing).

Anyway, any word that this project is still moving ahead? Or is it on hiatus?

The only thing I know, is that ccp is hiring people for Atlanta office, so that's a decent sign.

No, you can't get an update.

Where did you hear that one?
It is known that WiS technology was supposed to be used in WoD but that doesn´t automatically make it a fashion show game.

I for one do not look forward to soiling expensive clothing with the blood of my enemies so I will not spend real life cash on clothing. The only clothes I will wear, if and when we are blessed with a release, are those that are given to my character for free........Or those that I loot of your extra dead corpse....please please loot on death Twisted

I think there is nothing to update anymore, just like with WiS.

To OP : calm yer breasts, fellow capsuleer, once STAR CITIZEN launches and becomes big, CCP will see the need to update WIS/WOD and many other things, just remember its a big IF.

From the fanfest presentation. They very specifically stated that there would be a significant emphasis on fashion. It's not a fashion show game but it would be pretty ridiculous if you walk into a room/manshion/party hosted by "high vampire society" and everyone is wearing identical or mundane ****.

That's your personal choice, but looking at the income revenue stats for other MMOs (e.g. League of Legends) where they sell "skins" that have no in-game impact other than aesthetics, many players will, enough to not only sustain the game but also to consistently expand it without a monthly subscription fee.

For your own character though, I imagine blood will look good on a Nosferatu's dominatrix outfit. Just something to consider.

Sorry but I prefer my capsule and weapons of mass destruction... Besides we already have the Blood Raiders in EVE. Lol

I'd probably try WoD out seeing that its a CCP game but Vampires really are not my thing. I still hope it succeeds for CCPs sake.

Though tbh, what I am reading about Star Citizen it really won't hurt eve's player base too much, there are too many things about Sc that make it.. mmm not eve.

The market alone being controlled by NPC orders is enough to make some people not take the plundge.

But we will see.

however, if it is successfully, then yea hopefully it will light a fire under ccp's ass to expand on thigns that player want. A lot of players want WiS but -overly costly items.

and some of us want WoD, I have been wanting to play it for years... so damn it ccp make it!

I just had the startling revelation that I'm super excited for this game, but I have no idea what it's even about. Well, I mean i know it's about vampires, but what do you even do? Or have they not even said yet?

If possible, I just wanna run some super secret, exclusive nightclub and make everyone refer to me as Mistress while I sit around smoking a kiseru in chair that's way to big for me while I wear a robe that's way too small for me.

Only a couple of months to Fanfest OP (don't know the exact date but it's not far off). The last couple of years there has been a dribble of information.

Considering the lifecycle of MMO development and the fact that they have nothing tangible to announce so far I wouldn't get your hopes up too far.

This years Fanfest should give you some information even if it only negative - in the sense that nothing more than fluff probably means we won't be hearing anything substantial this year.

I have absolutely no idea of the lifecycle of CCP development, since it seems to be something totally different from everything else..

The lifecycle of CCP development ... I'd rather not stick my neck out by making any predictions.

But I was alluding to a couple of things, firstly that five years from project inception to delivery is quite normall for AAA games, including MMOs, although there will always be exceptions and it's not a hard and fast rule.

Secondly, it's quite normal to not hear anything until a game is close to alpha, for many reasons, not least of which building unreal expectations on delivery date, which is still going to be uncertain.

It's interesting to speculate about the changes in the last few years and what effect they may have had on CCPs plans for WoD, e.g. the rise of Free-to-play (sic), the failure of SWTOR, the scrapping of Titan, rise of WoT and LoL, etc.

Even from what the CCP says about development. Usual stuff. We have seen it before.
