Disconnections...

My internet has a strong connection and is quite solid (meaning it doesn't break). Yet I still get disconnected from EVE at least once, twice, or thrice a day. Is there a problem with Tranquility server or is it part of EVE as a built-in feature to just disconnect active players that have been online for a while Question

lol ... despite GSF pushing for it being a built in feature to nerf AFK cloaking it has not happened yet.

A good way to check whether its you or the server is this:

The solution to closed sockets is actually quite simple. All you need to do is d[The socket is closed]

Tachnically speaking there isn't much solid at all about a flow of electrons.... but I digress...

It's not there to disconnect active players... just you.

Thanks all for the hilarious replies. But more or less found the problem. Nothing with my connection at all, its either just some background programs. Smile

When I get this it usually says my login token has expired. It's usually after being afk for an obscene amount of time.

I just undocked for the first time and someone challenged me to a duel. Wat do?

I got this for a while, I changed the channel on the wireless and it cleared up. Make sure you don't have any torrents going, or any other computers connected, that seems to set it off as well.

It's EvE.
Sometimes I even get disconnected from EvE while I play other online games that don't disconnect at that time.

Yup no torrents and use gamebooster to Diable non essential background programs, checked firewall too. But can't do anything about the not sharing connections. We share the router.

I got DC'ed last night in the middle of a jump. I was stuck in that crazy cloud tunnel for like 10 minutes before I got booted. A part of me thought I would never get out

EVE does some very strange things to my internet, sometimes my internet will go down (for every user in the house) but EVE will play as normal.

Check for spyware and whatnnot.

I just checked my system, and got some removed. Will post here after I try out again. Only tomorrow though.

I've read that the socket is closed after 5 timeouts are exceeded, in order to prevent excessive client de-sync.

The problem can be anywhere between your computer and CCP's servers, so they can't always do anything about it.

Example: I know for a fact that my Netgear WNDR4500 WiFi router is bugged, and drops connections, so I had to replace it with a 75 foot (~23 m) CAT-6 Ethernet cable.

The Apple updater usually disconnects me from EVE. I still haven't got round to disabling it. Ugh
