Ishtar vs Gila fits

I keep hearing that Gila doesn't everything that an Ishtar does, but better.

Can someone post some Gila fits then please?
My goal is WH PVE/PVP

Yes, i've used PVE/PVP in the same sentence. I want a fit that can run C1-C3 sites, and be able to defend/engage at PVP opportunities

maybe if you're talking about a few years ago.

Gila is fairly meh-tacular right now.

It makes a great high-dps, high-ehp shield brawler, with either gardes or heavies.

That's actually a good sign that you need to seek out better people to take advice from.

Having a fit that can run C3 sites while still being PvP fit is quite a tall order, you need around 600dps tank as well as the ability to withstand the neuts, I can't think of any ship that can do that all solo, and even if it could, fighting in a C3 site is not adviseable as the victor is whoever is lucky enough to not get aggro from the Sleepers. In C2s it's more viable to have a PvP fit that can also do the sites, in fact a standard buffer tank Gila should be able to run C2s off the passive recharge, the tank is a little light but if you close range on the BS and orbit them up close you can mitigate alot of the damage, I haven't actually tried it myself but I'd use something like this:

[Gila, PvP]

Drone Damage Amplifier II
Drone Damage Amplifier II
Drone Damage Amplifier II
Damage Control II

Experimental 10MN Microwarpdrive I
Dread Guristas Warp Disruptor
Adaptive Invulnerability Field II
Caldari Navy EM Ward Field
Large F-S9 Regolith Shield Induction
Large F-S9 Regolith Shield Induction

Rapid Light Missile Launcher II, Caldari Navy Inferno Light Missile
Rapid Light Missile Launcher II, Caldari Navy Inferno Light Missile
Rapid Light Missile Launcher II, Caldari Navy Inferno Light Missile
Medium Unstable Power Fluctuator I
Small Unstable Power Fluctuator I

Medium Core Defense Field Extender II
Medium Core Defense Field Extender II
Medium Processor Overclocking Unit I

Bouncer II x5
Warrior II x5
Berserker II x5
Hammerhead II x5
Vespa EC-600 x5

The fit will cost you 280mil which is quite cheap for what you get, there's lots of flexibility too, you have long range, short range, neuts to break active tanks, good anti-frig capability, solid 60k EHP, ecm drones to bug out if things go wrong etc Drone are up to personal taste, I use Bersekers/Bouncers because I prefer the damage type, range from bouncers and speed from zerkers, however Gardes/Ogres are definitely a viable option.

The Ishtar is better in just about every single way, shape, and form. If you can fly an Ishtar you can ignore the Gila all together. That said, if you really want to fly a Gila, go for it.

Having never flown the Ishtar, I'm not sure how it fares when facing incoming EM or explosive damage (the Ishtar's T2 resists are heavily tuned towards thermal and kinetic). The Gila's got the nice ability to field a tank like a Drake's, and RLM's now serve as a truly first-rate secondary weapon system for the Gila instead of an afterthought.

Not exactly, the Gila is still a decent ship, however if you're using sentries mainly then the Ishtar is miles ahead because of the sentry bonus. I'd say the Gila makes a better brawler and obviously if you're running shield logi then you'd definitely want a Gila over an Ishtar.

An ishtar can tank blood anoms with motion and 2 em shield hardeners, and can fit 4 guns and 5 damage mods whilst doing it. I suspect for confidence reasons people will tend towards spending more than T2 on a blood ishtar tank, where as in gurista space nobody fits more than T2 to an ishtar, not required. I've always been able to afford an eccm on my ratting ishtar, so I'd have no trouble finding the slot for the extra shield hardener on a blood ratter.

its preferable to stand off when ratting bloods unless you are smartbombing. The gilas current problems standing off - are solved in blood space by fact that curators are just as good as gardes at killing bloods, and have a longer optimal, so its a pretty open choice. Being forced to wardens kills elites faster, but battleships slower in gurista space, which makes me lean towards ishtar for gurista.

explosive is never going to be a problem when everyone is shield tanking ishtars anyway.

The Ishtar is a far better brawler. Heavy drone specific bonuses and blaster DPS on top of t2 resists. It is not even competitive. Furthermore Shield tanked variants of the Ishtar are pvp viable and for PvE preferred.

Ishtar will be faster and has drone bonuses, but the gila will have significantly more ehp. The extra velocity on the RLMLs is cool too.
