Bubble bomb!

Alright, so for years, interdictors have had to suffer from being trapped in their own bubble, unable to lower it like the heavy interdictors. Well here's a solution: a bubble that gets launched like a bomb, it goes 30km in the direction your ship is pointing and then BAM, bubble is up. Probably make it a seperate charge from a standard warp disrupt probe but only usable by interdictors. Thoughts? Concerns?

Sounds very cool, but steps on the toes of bombers a lot.

I'd prefer some sort of "bubble missile" that flies to a target and pops a bubble instead of dealing damage.

Pros
  • Always get targets in the middle of the bubble
  • Firing it counts as aggression. This would fix the issue where dictors can perma-bubble a station undock

  • Cons
  • Requires you to have a target lock
  • Bubble doesn't pop up immediately, missile has to travel to target first

  • Still, in general terms, I like the idea of pressing a button over here and having a bubble pop up over there.

Except that Interdictors aren't immune to bubbles. Only Interceptors (and nullified T3's) are.

Thank goodness Interdictors (and Interceptors) are now thankfully immune to the effects of bubbles (their own or those deployed by others).

Thank goodness every post on these forums is 100% factually accurate Big smile
