I read a book called "Earth Unaware". The book was about a group of miners in a ship called El Cavadore that were mining out in the Kuiper Belt out beyond Pluto. The ship had an interesting way to get ore back to Earth without having to transport it their directly. They were fast transport drones.

These drones would be very useful in eve. The module would fit on barges, exhumers or other mining ships. NOT mining support ships. The hold on these drones would not exceed 50% to 100% of the ships hold size and would require a high slot to fit the drone launcher.

The launcher would hold a maximum of 30 drones and would require a reload time of 5 minutes before a new one could be loaded in to the launcher. The drone could be set to either go to a mining support ship parked in a safe spot, a station or POS. It can only be used one time before either becoming trash or recycled.

The range of the drones is limited to the system the mining ships are in. Skill set would require mining drones lvl 5.

They would come out of warp 15km from a station and would also take 30sec -2 min to warp out of a belt and would be up for grabs per current system sec status or war dec. Time limit would be skill driven. DEV's would have to decide what skills to implement.
