Stacking penalties on Neuts

Neuts are fine as-is.

They have HORRIBLE fitting requirements, and they eat up high slots. Not midslots like all other E-War, they eat up my precious high slots.

I can shoehorn in a scram and/or web on virtually any hull in EvE. If I wanted, I could fit any form of E-War on any ship. But neuts/nos eat up high slots. So on anything other than a bonused ship, or one with spare highslots/drone bonuses, fitting neuts is prohibitive. It gimps your DPS and takes up a lot of fitting.

Given the demands of this particular kind of E-War, I think giving them a stacking penalty would break them.

Cap Batteries?

Besides, you not being able to take on every fight is hardly a justification to weaken the already limited use of Neuts. What's the problem with skipping fights? You can't have it all all the time. That's how things work. Roll

Have you ever used cap batteries? They are one of the most useless mods in the game, a cap recharger is more effective. If I know what the enemy has and even with a refit I can't take them, then there is a problem. Neuts effectively stops a whole game style, which is solo pvp. I am not saying I should be able to counter it easily, I just don't want to get capped instantly and have a chance to get a couple of rep cycles.

Not totally useless, they do pretty awesome things for some ships if you need to be cap stable for whatever reason.

Not having stacking penalties on neuts is balanced by not having stacking penalties on energy transfers.

This is one of the few ways for a subcap gang to actually take on caps. Once a carrier goes into triage, it's dead. Once a dread goes into siege, it's dead. People scream for ways to counter caps with subcaps all the time. They just don't realize this is the way to (at least on a small scale).

I want to see logi appear on killmails! (by just repping)  See CSM "reasonable things"

I think you give yourself too much credit for figuring out that you one of the few people that figured out "caps are countered by neuts".

If that is the main issue then maybe the change shouldn't apply to caps, like it was mentioned in the first post, and maybe energy transfers should also have diminishing return.

What I want to know is the reason for some ewar not having diminishing effect while some do? That just isn't consistent. All effects that reduce or increase your ability to do something should have diminishing effects, why are neuts special?

If i remember right Remote cap Transfer doesnt have stacking Penalty to? So it seems pretty balanced to me.

You know, not everything in the game works exactly the same way, and it's just fine. Things would be boring if everything was harmonized.

So yes, neuts are different from other forms of ewar, but as many people pointed out already in this thread, they're balanced and they have their uses. I actually think it's probably one of the most balanced and the most interesting form of ewar in the game right now. Capacitor warfare is a complex and deeply strategic mechanic, compared to other ewar.
