The sad part in all of this is that I came from Dust to escape the game issues there, only to deal with hard resets and black screens, frozen character login, ETC. on my mac and I'm still in the trial period losing days upon days.... What? I doubt that this game is even worth the purchase... Back to Dust for now until the situation is rectified... Oh and they lied about that patch fix on the client character login... Just saying.

I still can't get my launcher to run to access the most recent patch, obviously i can't by-pass the launcher because then it tells me i have incompatible build. No idea what is going on anymore but i am indeed losing hope with this.....

They are obviously trying to fix the issue and Devs are posting in the forum about it and askng for information etc. I know it's been over a week but I don't think it's helpful turning this thread into a gripe fest or a whine for compensation. We're all frustrated with the problem since rubicon 1.1 and I bet the Dev team are too, it's their 'baby' after all. This bug seems to be particularly frustrating as it's not effecting all Macs or even all accounts on the same Mac.
When there's a solution CCP will, I am sure, find a way of making everyone feel compensated and happy with the game once more. Until then it'd be nice to think we're supporting the Dev team and each other in our forced hiatus from the game.

WUHA!!!!!!!

I have seen my character screen the first time since one week. Game started without problems. I will try my other accounts. Hope the problems are solved.

We have just put a patch out on Singularity with a bug-fix, which we hope fixes the black-screen issue. We would really like to hear if you can log on and play on Singularity.

As we have been unable to reproduce the issue, we again depend upon you good folks to tell us if the problem is solved.

Here´s hoping it is............

This is what CCP Maxwell posted on the other thread, I hope everyone experiencing this issue tries Singularity today and tests it. Report onto the Black Screen issue thread if you recieve the Flicker Freeze issue on SiSi.

I'm having no issues on Singularity at all, no flicker freezes or anything now. Everyone try it and say if you recieve anything.

Point taken about not becoming a whine fest, but come on, this is getting ridiculous. I can log in occasionally with one of my characters, but the other account just goes to black screen and locks up my laptop completely. CCP does not have a great record for reimbursing lost game time, ISK, ships, skilling, etc. I understand the need to be patient to a degree and hope for a fix, but really, how can they release new iterations of Rubicon that are clearly not properly beta tested? I have lost hours and hours of time that could be better spent trying to get the bloody thing to run and am getting more and more frustrated by the apparent lack of progress in putting this right.

No change. Since technically I'm below spec I'm buying a new computer - if that doesn't help I guess I'll have to quit EVE (and warn other Mac users against joining).

Worst case, CCP may just say to us that Anything of 330M or below is no longer supported anymore since it's the 330m, 320m and 9400m receiving problems. Shame really I hope it doesn't go that far since I paid for a sub only just recently and I'd really hate to stop playing EVE after playing for almost 2 years with no problems.

Lets just really hope CCP finds a fix to this first. Or tell them to reverse everything to before the 1.1 Rubicon patch.

I'll second that. This iteration of Rubicon is a FAIL for anyone playing on Mac. I'm sick to death of the frustration already.

So not true. I use a 330M and have zero issues. For me this has been the most stable, best performing Mac build Ive seen in 6 years of play.

I assume you all have tried deleting the eve file in application support? I find that if there is an issue affecting one account but not others, then deleting that file can clear it. (The file gets re-created by the client the first time you run it. This also meas ALL your settings are gone.) Also that file is not fixed by either the repair tool or even by downloading a new client. So if its bugged, your only option is to toss it and let the client build a new one.

That did not work for me...... Saw the Eve movie again and then had to restart my Mac when I could not get out of Eve and the black screen of death

And exactly the same for me.... Again. If this is such a perfect build for Mac Users, how come there are so many of us in the sh** right now?

Its getting difficult to believe you guys are ever going to put this right. Please take note of the previous couple of posts. At least there seems to be some common sense prevailing there in terms of suggesting a methodology for getting to the bottom of this. Furthermore, a statement from CCP to say that you WILL reimburse players for lost ISK, ships, SP and anything else lost because of this ****-up wouldn't go amiss.

And if you read the other forum thread of Black Screening, CCP has managed to get an executable reproduce of the issue and patched it onto Singularity. We should see this being patched onto Tranquility on Monday or Sunday.

Yes, CCP could have possibly did improvements to more easily reproduce the issue but they did try their best. Having an issue which isn't reproducable and having it difficult to fix isn't easy.

And I've been denied reimbursement for my ship lost due to this issue. I really hope CCP manages to look and reimburse us all due to this issue not producing any server receivable information therefore. Hopefully we can somehow get reimbursement.

By the way, login to Singularity server, test if it works for you. It works for me, CCP needs more results from their users that this SiSi patch is confirmed working for us.

There is a patch scheduled for Tuesday, and so far all reports indicate that the black screen on startup is fixed in that build.

when the bug first appeared i waited about a week to disappear, it didn't.

then i made sure everything is fine on my side, reinstalled the os and the client.

then opened a ticket to inform ccp there's a problem, which is ignored ever since.

the last time i contacted csr they told me the forum gets more attention, so i turned to the forum.

today, i made an application to the bug hunter crew, and i'm on singularity right now testing. works like it should, i hear the 'autopilot jumping' voice from the minimized windowed client.

so i don't know how to get your attention but i wanna help, if you don't reach out, at least don't ignore the help.
and i get it when people get edgy about it, because they pay for it to decrease the ammount of frustration in their lives, not to increase it. and i've got no illusions about compensation either, but prove me wrong.

The SiSi patch works on my system just fine. I have all options cranked up on the SiSi client and there do not seem to be any faults that I've seen yet. So, again, the patch on Singularity is working on the system below:

MacPro 15-inch, Mid 2009
Processor 2.8 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo
Memory 8 GB 1067 MHz DDR3
Graphics NVIDIA GeForce 9400M 256 MB

I play on a MacBook Pro running OS X 10.6.8.

Last week I experienced issues at load which impacted the graphic at the character screen.

This week the game has frozen and required a hard reboot every time I have tried to play following the most recent patch.

Is CCP working on this issue? I've seen what looks like a few weeks of posts around the topics but it's hard to tell.

Yes. Look at the previous posts. As you said, there have been days and days of posts regarding this topic mainly on this thread and this thread. They implemented a patch on the Singularity test server. I believe that patch is working on most or all of our systems, perhaps. It sounds like that patch will be implemented on the main server (Tranquility) on Tuesday.

Is this supposed to fix the problem that I am having (lockup/freeze that does not allow character to dock, turn on modules, chat, do anything)? Or is that being looked at as an entirely different issue?

Are you talking about the new(ish) bug that causes eve to not recognize your cursor?

All, check your graphics settings in the energy saver preferences. Next to "graphics", you should have it set to "Higher Performance". Some (but not all) of you might have been locked out by a bug in your affecting your internal graphics card (like myself) which you didn't know you were running on and that you shouldn't be running eve on anyway. I believe some OS system default to better battery life.
