I have been in null alliances. I have been in WH corps. Hmm, I have experienced a lot of EVE. As a casual player the most fun I have had thus far is courtesy of mobile depots and GSAs. I have been living in null sec doing MY own thing anyway I want and enjoying it. Thanks CCP.

This really does work. I am glad someone took the time to write it up.

lots of null is very casual friendly.
as previous people said research and find one that does things u want to do in your tz.
dw about the sov guys with their sov world problems.

Money at its root is a form of rationing. When the richest 85 people have as much wealth as the poorest 3.5 billion (50% of humanity) it is clear where the source of poverty is. http://www.theguardian.com/commentisfree/2014/jan/20/trickle-down-economics-broken-promise-richest-85

Morning all.

Several times in the past i've made forays into 0.0 only to have to leave/be forced out due to time pressures.

I don't have all the time in the world to play this game, and if i log in with 1 maybe 2 hours of time to spend, i don't think its feasible to wait for 2 hours orbiting a tower while a fleet forms.

If i mine, i'm a carebear
If i rat, i'm an uber carebear,
I can't participate in fleets as they generally take ,longer to form than i have time to spend.

So my question to you guys is: Did i join ****** alliances? Are there better places in 0.0 for the time poor?

0.0 players frequently ***** about the volume of players in high-sec.
Prove me wrong and suggest a way i can get into 0.0 with 1 hour or less per day!

In reality it isn't unless you're friends with the leadership before joining.

There are corps who claim to be casual friendly but usually casual to them is only spending four hours a day in game every day.

I'm sure they exist but I haven't found one yet :(

Hm, I don't have that much experience in null, but most of it was solo. I'd say equipped with the proper knowledge and SP in the right places, yes you can eke out an existance in nullsec. The most important factor would be to have a station to work from. What you won't get that much is casual PVP though, Faction Warfare or lowsec in general is better to go pick a fight in a cheap ship. I'd say try that first, and then move to nullsec once you know a few people in your corp that are quick to form up.

The pitfall here is that you may end up in a player corp that puts little focus on group activities. When others are online, you should be in contact with them via intel channels and teamspeak, many eyes in many places. If corp chat and TS are dead you are in a true carebear corp where everyone does their own thing. If you are expected to report intel and be in a fleet, you might be in that cool solo-small-gang PVP corp that still needs to undock and rat for their ISK. That hardly defines carebearing.

Don't ask what an alliance can do for you, ask what can you do for them. If the answer is nothing, then join a renter corp, or just live in NPC space.

"Is 0.0 accessible for time strapped/casual players?"

yes and no.

Yes if you enjoy the game more than some obsessive aspergian min-maxing over ISK or KB.

No if you care about stats or ISK.

If you really want to play in the nullsec sandbox then that's your prerogative. Let me offer a narrative from my brief nullsec experience.

It's 2008. I join a small Caldari mining and manufacturing corporation. I find out that they're integrating into a small nullsec alliance (known as Slyph Alliance for any oldies that might recognize them). I move all of my trivial property down to their territory. My time there is made up of:

  • Hiding in stations
  • Hiding from "pirate" patrols
  • Unable to run missions or mining ops because of frequent nullsec fights

Three months later the Goonies and their pawns/"allies" swoop in and wipe the floor with Sylph in a series of fleet drops, a few of which were mercenaries from PL and others. My corp uproots and heads to Minmatar space. I go hiatus just as we join another null sec alliance in the north.

I came back six months later to find out that my corp has collapsed. Fortunately none of my assets were in nullsec so I picked up and ran with a new bunch of folks before I eventually found my current roots.

Moral of the story: if you want the nullsec life then go out there and throw everything you have into it. Don't go out there for curiosity's sake or because you want to say that took part in the chaos. Some people revel in that life - others enjoy empire living. Just figure out what matches you best and move forward from there.

I was unsure where this was going, but it ended up being excellent advice. Even if you are going to play ``casually``, the small decisions you make will have enormous impacts on your gameplay. So while some activity may only take five minutes of your time, the repercussions of your actions may shape your condition for years to come.

Again, nullsec isnt for everyone. While time isnt necessarily a limiting factor, there are many others that may make other areas of the game better suited to you.
