I cant get into Eve today...

Eve updated itself this morning, and I can't get in.

The loader launched exefile, which informed me of the new patch. The loader patch was installed, and the launcher re-launched. Then it dies. Every time.

Exefile dies every time.

So I run the repair tool. TWICE ! It says everything is fine, but the launcher still wont launch. When it crashes it says:

Lessons learned:
1. Do not use the launcher. Ever. Occasionally it will work, just to troll you.
2. Also do not use the launcher to do updates. It does not always work.
3. When a new update arrives, and the launcher tries to download it, stop. If you can, try to stop the launcher update before the launcher tries to do its download... because you can save a lot of time going right to step #4.
4. As soon as you know there is an update, close all Eve programs and run the repair tool. (You might have to run it twice.)
5. Then skip the launcher and directly call exefile.exe to begin:
exefile /triPlatform=DX9
6. If exefile.exe complains, make sure there are no Eve programs still in memory. Run the repair tool again, and its good.

TLDR: Eve assumes you want to use DX11, and changes the DX9 settings back to DX11 every time there is a patch. ( It also erases all your account names, but that is a different issue.) Force exefile.exe to load DX9 and it should just work.

I did buy this machine new with DX11 pre-installed... but it still won't work with Eve... hmmm...

My revenge? I closed one account this month.... can't stay away though.. :-)

Can't start the game here too. After the small update the game will not start at all.

Tried the repair thing 2x. Did not help

Tried to start in Safe Mode. Did not help.

Keep getting this "exception" error window with a massive long log.


EDIT:

Okay, got it working.

Had to delete the "launcher" folder, then ran repair.

Works now.

I never use the launcher, always the bin\exefile.exe to start eve. i'll start eve and it will load til it gets the start up screen doesn't show anything then pop up error say's... CCP ExeFile has Stopped working, a problem caused the program to stop working correcly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available... anyone else getting this?

Same thing here. deleted launcher folder and game still hangs when trying to start. CCP fix this crap. 10 years in and you are still beta testing with the production environment!

a fresh installation dint fix it either.
