Theyre the worlds most adorable killing machines.

With the option to order food online, we don't really need to hunt any more. That's right, on the internet nobody knows that you're a cat.

I guess every species that doesn't have to kill prey to eat will still do it for fun.

This cat may have been near a nest, but this was not 'murder' Twisted

You should enjoy this one rain <--short version that eliminates the build up which is slow but awesome to watch as well.

Could this be the ultimate evolution of those murderous kitties?

My cat used to catch cute little birdies on our balcony, she then would bring them into our bedroom, unharmed, and put them down in some corner where the bird couldn't escape.

And she stared at the bird until it died out of fear. Shocked

Stupidity should be a bannable offense.

Fighting back is more fun than not.

I have a murder cat who is a really low IQ. It's hard to explain how she could be such a great hunter. Maybe she's like pro athletes-- intellect isn't a requirement to have athletic talent. Blink

Actually domestic cats are now considered a threat to small wildlife. "The Smithsonian Conservation Biology Institute and the Fish and Wildlife Service estimated that domestic cats in the United States — both the pet Fluffies that spend part of the day outdoors and the unnamed strays and ferals that never leave it — kill a median of 2.4 billion birds and 12.3 billion mammals a year, most of them native mammals like shrews, chipmunks and voles rather than introduced pests like the Norway rat." NY Times story

Those little bell things on the collars aren't working. Need some disco lights or air raid sirens on them maybe.

another reason to not let them out for too long? it's still possible to lose them to predators. I'd like a house and a pair of savannah cats after school is done, but i'm sure even in LA county there is enough wooded land to support wild predators. as much as i'll enjoy pretending they are fierce guard cats.

want!

lol what is that on the fence, it can't be a tiger like the commenter claims. just a big cat...

savannah cats are sold in a retail boutique not too far from me in Los Angeles, somewhere around (just under) $2k. I would love to have one sooner but they need a lot of room

I believe it is a mountain lion. They can be kept in Florida with the right permits so I guess that is most likely the case wherever this guy resides.

EDIT: And it is an an enclosed cage pathway, that goes around the whole fence line in the back I would suspect.
