Hey all, so I just am finishing my training for the tengu but really have no idea what to get into now. I find myself just bored without a long term goal or even a short term one. I guess I'm looking for advice what to do with this toon. 80% of the time I am doing PvE content with a little PvP now and again, I'm sure that tid bit helps :P

Based on your implants and current remap. Finish training all of the Caldari Subsystems to 5. Then Weapon Upgrades to 5. Buy and inject, Advanced Weapon Upgrades. Train that all the way to 5. And if you are sticking with missile, Rapid Launch 5, Missile Bombardment 5, Target Navigation Prediction 5 and Warhead Upgrades 5. That will keep you busy for a while.

For your Tengu, you really need Heavy missiles to V also. (then spec IV) Then get all your Missile support skills to V.

You're mapped to train ships-n-guns (-n-missiles) for now. Maps are most effective when you are training long skills/long periods of time.
It's time to get some V's going. Many ships, including the Tengu, really shine with perfect skilling. A *perfect* ship is WAY better than an average skilled ship.

It wouldn't hurt for you to train BC V or BS V (If you're sure you like Caldari PVE)

For many years now, I have a personal goal of training at least 1 skill to V every month. Then I train some III's or IV's, then back to another V.
I recommend that you do something similar.
You can slip in some *non-mapped* skills to III or IV here and there, but keep your long skills on map.

Side Note:
I think you could improve your drones a bit.
Nav a bit
Get thermodynamics to IV and Strat Cruiser to IV. Learn how to overheat on a regular basis. It's good training for PvP later.
Great toon so far :)

tengu is a good enough ship and can do enough things well to merit some specialization. Max your missile support skills to squeeze every last drop of dps out of the hull, as its golden in all other metrics.

Its a good ship to specialize in for a pilot that will be putting lots of sp into non-combat stuff.

With your current set of support skills something as expensive as a Tengu is wasted on you. You wont be able to use decent fits which will only get you blown apart. At 1 billion/fit that quickly becomes a very expensive hobby.

It's not because you have subsystems to train that your normal tech 1 and 2 core skills become less important, if anything they are more important cause Tengus are a tight fit and designed by and for experienced pilots.

Take my advice and stick to tech 1 ships (for pvp) till you get those supports to V. Core skills are not, train them to 4 skills, every pilot needs them to V before even considering taking on other pilots. They literally dictate EHP, CAP parameters, DPS and thus how long you will last under fire and the damage you will be inflicting.

Keep in mind that tech 3s are considered bling and that pilots will go out of their way to get T3-killmails.

Of course, you can take out your Tengu right now in situations where you are pretty sure you wont be engaged/ing anyone.

Keep at it, you are on the right track,

Cheers,

Your support skills are fairly mediocre, but with maxed subs and a lot of level 4's, its definitely what you should fly as your moneymaker. Don't use it for pvp, although you should be fine using it to scout once you get the covops cloak.

Here are the most critical skills you're missing to have good proficiency with a pve tengu. In no particular order...

Train cloaking to 4
cap management 5
thermodynamics 4
weapon upgrades 5
advanced weapon upgrades 4
heavy missiles 5
HML spec 4
target navigation predicition 5
guided missile precision 5
acceleration control 4
evasive maneuvering 5 (anything below 4 in this skill is BAD)
high speed maneuvering 4
shield rigging 4
shield management 5
caldari strategic cruiser 3
caldari defensive systems 5
cadari electronic systems 5
gravimetric sensor compensation 4

Thanks I have taken note of everyone's posts. I will be on a long 6-8 month training plan that should allow me to max many of the skills you guys have brought up. As many of you have said don't PvP at the moment in your tengu, do not fret I had no plans of doing that. Anyway, my next long term goal was a Marauder. But i'm not sure what race to go for, (excluding the Paladin, not interested in that one) maybe the Vargur or the Golam. Let me go over to make sure I'm not missing anything:

All Missile support skills to V
Improve Drone skills ?
Work on Race Space Command
Navigation skills to V
Sub systems to V
Gunnery skills to V?
Cap skills to V

P.S To me thats what I got out of this and if that is the case. I'm looking at around 4-8 months of training, depending on If I go for that Marauder. But then again EvE is a game of training, so long term is always best. Please feel free to correct me If I forgot anything as it will make up my training regime. :)
