Hi all,

I'm about to remap my head for some faster skill training.

Is it better to place the points from three attributes into two, ie Memory and Perception, or can I redistribute the points from Charisma into the other four attributes?

I plan on training for Industrial, Mission Running, and Trading.

Thanks for your time.

That completely depends on which skills you are going to train exactly.

Download EVEMON and put all the skills you want in 1 or multiple seperate skillplans and see what remap is optimal for it/them.

I currently have an alt skilling using 2 remaps. Firs one for weapons and ships. When those are done a remap for tank and utility stuff.

Those three "career paths" conflict with each other pretty heavily for a solid answer to your question.

Trading mostly uses Charisma/Memory, depending on what sort of industry you are doing e.g mining or production you will want either high memory or high intelligence.

Mission running falls into a lot of categories as you are going to need gunnery/spaceship command skills (perception/willpower). You will also need support skills to regulate armour or shields/capacitor usage which mainly use intelligence and memory attributes. Drone skills are also heavily used in the higher mission levels which again is memory/perception based.

Also if you are mission running you will no doubt want to train some social skills too.

Basically I think you will benefit more from a more evenly spread allocation of attributes if this is what you are interested in doing. In which case your starter attributes may be sufficient for the time being.

I'd suggest you hold off on remapping for a while and experience these career paths for a bit longer before making any decisions with your attributes. You might find out you hate trading and mining and just want to go the combat route or vice versa.

Though generally speaking newcomers can't go wrong with placing their attributes evenly into both perception and intelligence.

...In general I'd avoid remapping until you've trained a lot of skills to lvl3-4 (the training difference between a 18 hour skill fully mapped and nuetral mapped aren't really that big), and when you start looking to grab lvl5 skills map for int/mem or per/wil, or whatever your 3-6 month focus will be.

Mapping early is a good way to be annoyed later on when you have a better idea of what you'd like to do.

I also second the recommendation for evemon, it's a great tool to help you see training times and figure out a training plan.

Training cybernetics to 1 and throwing a couple of +3 implants in helps a lot.

For the OP's intended purpose of industry, I typically recommend a general mapping focused on intelligence, perception, and memory.

INT > (PER = MEM)

INT = (base + 6) = 23
PER = (base + 4) = 21
MEM = (base + 4) = 21

With the addition of +4 implants, it trains most skills > 2000 SP per hour, which I consider the minimum threshold to avoid training below.

I had a similar mapping for just over 3 years before I wanted to remap into PER>WIL (2 years) and will remap INT>MEM sometime in the future. I still have 4 bonus remaps; don't waste them, as they limited and precious.

Example of an industry character with this mapping for 4 years, and has an average SP per hour of 2,429.52 despite training a lot more than just industry [2700 SP per hour is the max possible in EVE]

Thank you for the replies.

A friend who also plays eve suggested I remap and focus on the skills with certain attributes but they've not been online recently to explain it furthur.

With EVE having such a broad spectrum of stuff to do, I'm still deciding on what to do, and which career path to take.

Thanks again for the responses.
