Hello capsuleers!

I'm ISD Detroit here to recruit for the Yulai Archive and Record Repository maintainers of EVElopedia, the official EVE online wiki. It's that time of year, and YARR is again recruiting official volunteers. For those who are not aware, YARR's main purpose is assisting capsuleers with contributing to EVE's official wiki as well as maintaining official content. The wiki was recently updated and YARR is looking for a few good writers, designers, organizers, and fact checkers to assist with new and existing projects.

The process is still the same, however recent technical changes may have lost previous applications. So, if you've applied in the last twelve months and would like to be reconsidered, feel free to apply again.

Some requirements:
* You need to be 18 years or older.
* You need at least one active account (with at least 6 months of activity).
* All of your past and present accounts must be in good standing.
* Volunteers are expected to average around six hours of volunteer work per week.
* All volunteer work and communications are completed in English, however knowledge of additional language (German, Russian, or Japanese) is a huge plus!

Additional pluses include:
* Experience with mediawiki, HTML, CSS, PHP, javascript, writing, or image editing.
* Passions for teaching, writing, editing, leadership, or design.

We don't discriminate.

You will be required to sign a nondisclosure agreement and hold to the terms thereof.

***If you intend to apply, please do not make that information public, as this will prevent us from considering you.***

(Feel free to ask questions in this thread. I will do my best to answer them)

Why an NDA for a public wiki?

Pon Farr Memorial: once every 7 years, all the carebears in high-sec must PvP or they will be temp-banned.

I assume ISDs are required to keep their player accounts secret, same as GMs and Devs?

"**CCP is changing policy, and has asked that we discontinue the bonus credit program after November 7th. So until then, enjoy a super-bonus of 1B Blink Credit for each 60-day GTC you buy!"**

Never forget.

Probably also to do with having "access" to sensitive information. Most companies will have you do this no matter what you are doing for them. Most times they call them something more facy than a NDA, but they are the same.

It is required of all volunteers.

I have removed a rule breaking post.

The rules:
4. Personal attacks are prohibited.

Commonly known as flaming, personal attacks are posts that are designed to personally berate or insult another forum user. Posts of this nature are not beneficial to the community spirit that CCP promote and as such they will not be tolerated.

That said, please do apply as volunteer for YARR. They're good, and you might even make them better!

As always, I stand ready to serve the community. I meet all of the requirements and a plus or three. I will also pass this along to James 315 and other tireless community leaders.

See Bio for isk doubling rules. If you didn't read bio, chances are you funded those who did.

The NDA is not required because of doing Wiki work, but because of being part of the ISD Volunteer program. All ISD Volunteers require to sign such a legal agreement to protect both the volunteer and CCP.

In general I would like to add that the the ISD volunteers are a fantastic group of people and without their tireless help since more than a decade now, EVE wouldn't be where it is now.

This is, again, a rather vague statement.

Does "6 months of activity" mean your account needs to have been active continuously for the past six months? Does it mean you need to have your pilots' license extended past six months into the future from time of application? Does it require that you subscribe (with a credit card and a recurring bill, as the word "subscription" implies) as opposed to paying with a non-recurring payment method?

A re-statement of it as I've seen it applied is "your account needs to have been subscribed for the 6 months prior to your application". I myself had paid for my account in a mixture of monthly payments and PLEX prior to applying, and it didn't seem to make any difference.

It's really not that difficult. That restriction is there in order to provide a minimum filter of dedication and experience in Eve.

i assume that hearing nothing back from these things means that you failed the application, having done this well over a year and a bit ago, i still haven't heard a reply.

How do we know what standings our ACCTS are?

Its not like there's any indication.

For myself, I know my standings is in the "DEVS/GMS do not talk to this idiot" area. But what about the rest of the people interested?

Caveat: I'm not ISD.
I believe this is intended to exclude folks who previously have been found to be in breach of the EULA (examples: RMT, making real life threats, etc.) Essentially if any of your chars has previously received a 30 day ban (or permanent ban), you're not encouraged to apply to ISD.

If you have applied and feel the need to ask a question as an applicant do not respond here. Do so via email at evelopedia@isd.eve-online.com . If I get any questions, I'll also make sure to post them here with an answer.

Anyone who is still interested, please feel free to continue to apply. Response emails are going out, so everyone who applied double-check your email, as the mail may be in a spam folder.

Would a forum ban on an alt account count as a bad standing?
