When I decided to start in Eve, I read about how hard the learning curve was.
Then I read about drones. An autonomous weaponsystem.
That sounded great : if I didn't know what to do, then my drones certainly would.
So the choice for Gallente was easy.
It took me a while to realize that the drone-AI was not exactly ahead of me on the learning curve ... Smile

On my first trial account in 08 I trained for lasers so I could use them on my little Rifter because it looked cute.

Back in the day, when I was a noob, and thought that Battleships were indestructible. I decided to take my corp mining in old man star with a fleet of 5 mining megathrons....

I remembering jumping into lowsec and getting jumped by a Dominix while chasing rats. The pirate took me to hull, demanded ransom and then while I was begging for him to tell me how to pay, realized I was a complete noob on a trial account (which didn't allow me to transfer ISK). He repaired my ship, escorted me back to hisec and sent me on my way. Coolest thing ever and it sold me on the game. It took me awhile to dip my toe back out of hisec but I've never forgotten that first time I got ganked.

Epic Story. I do love it when pirates show some personality or heart like this... The story about the pirates whom ganked a indy full of meteorite and then sent the player a mail asking if their service was up to scratch, and sent a 30 question questionnaire was almost as good as this.,

Good lord stupid stuff I did as a noob.

Well lets start off with the cormerant that I flew for about 2 days loaded with nothing but "civilian railguns" cause I was "gonna save mad bucks on ammo". I don't know if yall remember, but civilian weapons suck.
Then later on while doing the SOE arc I continued using a cormy. However this time it had 4 blasters, 3 rails and a light missile launcher of defenders. Also there was a bad habit of locking up 3-4 enemies at a time and putting 2 guns on each 1. Bad ideas.

Then after I joined my first corp (they were so good to a newb like me)
Well my second week in the game I had managed to figure out passive shield tanking and was running around in a caracal, got talked by the leaders into moving into their WH, before I knew what scanning was.

Moved into a WH with nothing by a cormy and a couple condors (back when they were worthless)
Tried to use a condor to take on sleeper frigates. yeah I'm sure we all know how that worked.

And then I learned about Drakes. Back when they were only 20 mil. Managed to almost lose it to "the blockade" l3, because silly me, took out all the triggers. Ship was dope though, even fudging a mission like that the thing still lived through it.

Lesse here, then we move up to unskilled Raven flying, and the 2 dozen times I found myself sitting outside of a station wiht 2-3 hull/armor reppers running because I was too poor to pay for repairs.

Can't count the number of times I warped out with <100 hull. Personal record was 3 structure.

More eff ups on my part, but I'll stop myself here.

I'd save all my spare ISKies for Sundays so I could buy and drop bombs on WH's. The raisins I'd eat. P

This when they used to flare, and bombs were nowhere as cheap as they are now, because even as a newb I was that goddamn awesome. P

newbs you say???

just 1 hour ago i have killed rookie ship with 2 capital sized rigs (worth about 80million) in cargohold on the gates to Jita. Glanced on killmail and decided that rigs were destroyed. And left that space...

Few minutes ago returned to this killmail to find that rigs survived attack....
Returned to that place to find that rigs found new owner (as it could be other way...) Lol

My 2nd week playing I had these huge ideals of getting super space rich mining, so i figured I'd scan down a wh and get to it. Found my first WH, jump in and found my first ore site, happily ignored the sleepers rising text box that popped up cause, damn! i found fancy space rocks! well 20 minutes later my shiny new retriever was a pile of drifting space junk. Grumbling to my self I go to leave only to realize I forgot to bookmark the WH exit, so I warped around for a good 30 minutes looking for thinking I would just stumble across it. I found a POS and the owner promptly sent me back to hisec. Man I was soooo pissed, that 4m retriever was everything I had lol.

This is my main

This is great. I'm a newb... so I'm sure I'll have more to add. Lol

Here are a couple:

1. At the end of the tutorials I started the Sisters of Eve epic... transferred my assets to rebase at Arnor. Used autopilot for every single jump & trip and transferred every ship I had: a Sigil, a Venture, a Tormentor, an Executioner and a Magnate. That's 5x16 jumps plus a warp in between in a decent ship plus 5x16 return trips in my capsule... all on autopilot. Took me all night. SadBig smile

2. Thought it would be bad ass to fit a Magnate as a miner.

3. Miscellaneous times bought stuff at a different station then forgot what station I bought it at... didn't know how to use my asset interface at the time. :P

Just writing this has me lol'ing myself. Which is nice.

Was checking my assets today and realized I have assets spread out in so many locations it's insane. Most of the stuff I don't even remember buying.

I once made off like a bandit with 5,000 cubic meters of Veldspar from an asteroid belt in 0.9.
