I'm a new player but I can answer this one since I think I may know.

Everyday, around 3:00am PST, the server goes down for maint for 30minutes. That file is a hotfix that has what they did to the game during maint.

It's a patch to the client on your computer. It won't happen every day. It's been more frequent lately because of the upgrade to Rubicon 1.1. If you are getting the same size patch everyday then there is something else going on with your computer.

15mins damn man whos your internet provider? Are you still using dial up lol. it takes less than a minute for my download. You really should feed your hamsters a better diet if it takes 15mins.

Same thing, every other day.

Patch-Online is what I call this game these days, got sick of trying to login mid week all the time. Glad I only do it to swap skill training.

Basically it's a patch to fix a patch to fix a patch.

Every time a major update happens lots of small stuff gets thrown out of wack. Some of these r general knowledge and can be seen in the many QQ threads you can see here. Others are so small they do not come to light right away.

Hence the daily patch.

It's food for the small Fedo EvE has smuggled into your computer. When it gets big enough it will emerge from it's tower casing and demand a gamer staple of cheetos and Mt. Dew.

Don't feed it after midnight.

*Snip* Removed reply to a deleted post. ISD Ezwal.

As for the patch OP, would you rather that CCP just NOT fix issues that people report? Would you rather have to deal with a bug that makes your game unplayable for 2 or more weeks while they make a larger patch just so you don't have to download a small patch everyday, or deal with a small patch every couple of days? Just deal with it and chalk it up to people actually listening to complaints (for once) and trying something to make people happy.

But of course as we all know, you cant make everybody happy all the time.... so... yeah.

Since the cessation of their usefulness is imminent, may I appropriate your belongings?

I started the client half a minute ago.

There's a 19.54MB download running.

The real first question we all should ask:

Why 69MB *each day* ??

That would be a funny April Fools joke. Log in and it downloads a whole bunch of patches and then says "Congratulations! You WIN!" and then quits.

They're micro patches, if you're getting the same size every day then you have something else going on.
Personally I prefer the small incremental fixes to a huge gurt download.

In the beginning there was nothing, which exploded.

Hey bro, I heard you like patches, so here's a patch for your patch so you can patch while patching your patch.

Seriously though, yea, daily tweaks and adjustments that are too small to warrant patchnotes. Just deal with it, enjoy the game.

If there are no patch notes... then it's a back-end thingamajig that would take too long to explain to the unwashed masses.
